Just got mine. Traded in a 23 normal Raptor since it had no heated steering wheel. Found a Raptor R with a heated steering wheel ;). Three concerns so far. 1. Remote started it once and heard a rattle (exhaust maybe?) Popped the hood and the truck shut off, restarted and sounded fine. Hmmm...
More Whipple stage 1 feedback
Mileage @80 = 16.5 mpg - just the truck
Towing a 26' long 8.5' wide aluminum v-nose @ about 5000# with cargo
@ 75 mph against a 15 mph headwind = 6.0 mpg. Sheesh.
@ 65 mph against a 15 mph headwind = 9.0 mpg. not terrible
The faster you go while towing makes a...
My feedback now that I have some miles on the stage 1:
1. No more need for sport mode in normal driving. The throttle by wire was so slow to react and peeved me off that I always ran in sport mode. It is now way, way better in normal mode and I rarely switch to sport mode unless I feel...
How many have they ACTUALLY broken? Or is this speculation? Did their mothers, cousins, step dad hear of a broken axle in a bar conversation?
Same question on the transmission. Show me a picture of a broken one or it didn't happen. I am sure if someone broke a rear end or transmission...
If I disconnected the fake engine sound with Forscan, can I just remove the stock amp for the sub and just use the old amp line in to the converter, to the Kenwood amp, to the speaker? It just seems easier to take it out and use that area to mount the line converter and amp on a custom bracket...
I made a deflector out of some thin sheet aluminum to divert it all into the hole. I'll take a picture if I remember to; but I basically made a prototype out of paper and then cut the aluminum sheet and bent it to fit. It didn't let any onto the skid plate.
The Germans did it right on my...
Here is a version that I ordered for my UTV rivet issues for only $17 with a tool.

I am not saying Water wetter is a gimmick. It may have its uses in an inadequate cooling system. But my experience with 15 years of racing 1000 rwhp machines is that the water wetter effect was negligible at best. A properly sized radiator will remove about 20 - 25 degrees of temperature from...
It's not a coolant temp issue. It is the charged air from the turbo that gets heat soak when the stock inner cooler runs out of capacity. That heat creates higher intake air temperatures which in turn makes the computer retard the timing to reduce knock and thus reducing power.
My gage showed 5 miles left, and I rolled into the station and put in 35.75 gallons. I would say there is ZERO miles of reserve! Do NOT push this like the Seinfeld episode.....
I picked up a 2017 Explorer last fall that had a large (8") paint run in the middle of the front fender. I caught it in the delivery area, but geez, how do it even get out of the factory? I always go over new vehicles with a fine tooth comb in a well lit area at the dealer during delivery from...
As far as the flashers, yes either will do. I changed mine to 4 flashes with a 9, but that was weird as the normal signal would not shut off after it clicked back to normal after a turn. I had to turn the signal on and off again. So I then tried an 8 with Forscan and all was good at four...
I agree, this has nothing to do with the motor or transmission. It is the nanny state making sure you want full power. This is a throttle by wire / programmed delay issue. It does suck when you want to make a quick pass, pull out, and have to wait 2 seconds for the truck to apply the power...
I did a bunch of the common changes to my truck and it all works great. I'm bringing this post back up because I never saw a response on this one. I would like the seats (and wheel) to start back with the last command. I always forget to turn on the seats until halfway home. My 2017 Explorer...
My 2014 F250 crew cab long box diesel only gets 16-17 mpg on highway (at 78 mph). 9-10 towing a car hauler at 78 mph. The diesel is not the answer for mileage either with the regen cycles it does. Every 350 miles it blows 2 gallons of fuel out the exhaust during the regen cycle. This new...
It just gives me more time to figure out how to get a 140" long snowmobile in a 91" bed (with the tailgate down). I'm going to miss my 8' bed in the superduty....
