Haha, short and sweet. What would your definition of reasonable be? I see you have one on order - MSRP? Looks like you have had a lot of Ford's, so likely a solid dealer relationship.
The million $ question for me is how long will they continue to make the R?
Seems like an act of futility in getting a Raptor R at a reasonable price these days. My two local trusted dealers tell me they have no allocations left and are not optimistic about '24 allocations. I like that they are being honest.
Anyone think it's feasible to find/order one at a...
Getting my standard wheels on my '21 powder coated in a couple of weeks. 35" wheels - many of these lug nuts say not to use on OEM wheels. Like the original poster from a year or so ago - a complete set of black lugs with a lock per wheel would be excellent. Appreciate suggestions - The...
My first Raptor was a SCAB (2017). I think a better looking vehicle. But our Labrador and stuff was cramped back there and I did hate the way the rear doors worked in parking lots etc. Switched to a '19 SCREW and now have a Gen 3. Love the room in the back, gives us more options. As others have...
Do tell - what gas cars have you driven that are faster (acceleration wise) than the R1T? I've had my share of pretty fast ICE vehicles, none as fast as that Rivian truck.
Novelty never wore off for me when we owned the Model Y - love the torque. There were other things I didn't like about...
Boring?! I feel the complete opposite. The Rivian R1T I rented off of Turo was amazing - acceleration, torque, regen braking, all great. However, I wouldn't replace my Raptor with it. What EV's do you find boring?
DBPOWER Car Battery Jump Starter 2500A 21800mAh - for up to 8.0L Gasoline/6.5L Diesel Engines, Portable 12V Auto Battery Booster, Power Pack, Quick Charging https://a.co/d/glpE4Dr
If this is directed to me... No it works fine but I have found it only good for a jump or two before needing recharging. Got me in a pickle once with my not so great battery in my truck
Thanks. Pretty much the same - I carry a portable pack. I did wipe it out a few months ago. Seems only good for one jump, maybe two. I have a battery maintainer on now, but sure didn't think I would need to for a couple of weeks. I get a couple of months....
Thinking I must have a bad battery. My Raptor sat in Detroit for 4+ months after it got built. After going dead a few times, the dealer did a full check in January and denied there was any issue and gave me the printouts. Now - after two weeks of being in the garage, battery dead. It has been...
I agree on your Lightning thoughts. I have no compelling reason to get into one and frankly the Raptor is our large road trip mobile. Given we have the X5 PHEV that is also a good road trip vehicle, but the Model Y was not for us.
I think a Lightning at current prices is a hard sell, but people...
I agree, it will be interesting... of course some makers have dropped their prices in response - e.g. Tesla. I believe the EV rebates are still in effect for business owners - small biz included.
Why do you think the Leaf was only worth $10K? Pretty early EV player - 2011 is when it came out...
That's funny. Seems like we have seen technology continue to advance rapidly. e.g. wired phones to cell phones; ice boxes to refrigerators; no computers to personal phones that do more than mainframes of the past.
EV's are a good option for some today and will be for more in the future.
No disagreement on the points. I think that will change in a few years as more economical EV's come into play. I mean they all don't need supercar performance which is what many of them provide right now. Not sure the world needs 9,000lb EV Hummers that have a huge stopping distance on our...
By documented, I mean in the Tesla (and other EV) forums. You aren't hearing any of this from Tesla directly. Lots of posts about phantom drain; people parked at airports, etc.
I guess the definition of "rich" will vary, but plenty of working class people have garages, no? But I wouldn't recommend one to my college age daughter who has on-street parking
You certainly do not need a heated garage. However, it's good practice to leave plugged in to precondition the vehicle when you're ready to drive. I wouldn't get an EV unless I had a garage where I could keep it plugged in. Your buddy didn't have the settings right on his Tesla - he likely left...
Well I have had a couple of Model Y’s, I like the instant torque as well as the ability to have a conditioned cabin at departure time. I also get the range issue in the cold which is why we now have an X5 PHEV. Better for our use case.
Tough crowd here. Thinking most haven't driven an EV. Rented a Rivian pick up a few weeks ago - crazy fast and capable. Got me thinking about moving towards something like that. Lightning is a nice truck - wouldn't try and use it to tow but lots of positives (looks vs. the Raptor isn't one of...
