I wouldn't worry too much about towing a boat near the limit even if you keep everything stock. Boats are closer to 5% tongue weight compared to 10-15% for travel trailers and generally less affected by crosswinds. SCAB wheelbase is fine for a 24' boat.
If you really want to upgrade...
Depending on how you use your truck, asking for an extension of the factory warranty to go with your rebuild could be a good option. If you're going places that tow trucks can't get, you're probably better off insisting on a new unit.
I doubt it's come up yet, but anyone have experience with Deavers voiding the warranty on other rear suspension components?
I got the factory extended maintenance plan specifically to cover the shocks.
You're fine - rear suspension sees way more dynamic load in action, worst case scenario you compressed to the factory bump and it sat on the frame for a bit
The battery doesn't drain at idle under normal operating conditions...that would be a very poorly designed system.
The battery drains over time due to the small but constant current draw while in "sleep" mode and the normal self discharge of SLA batteries.
That's some nice reference material right there! Above poster is correct that current gen f-150s use variable alternator output voltage - can be anywhere from 12.7 to 14.4V depending on battery state of charge.
One thing to point out from the last paragraph, F150s with auto start stop use...
any electrical problems after that from water hitting under-body harnesses? If not, shout out to the engineers and production wiring guys for some excellent work.
They discuss it prior to the short course and then have you stomp the brake in the box to see how it affects stopping distance.
According to the instructors off-road modes reduces ABS intervention to increase lockup and Baja mode adjusts front/rear braking bias depending on speed. Haven't seen...
I'm not talking about accelerating onto highways.
Go fast off-road and use the paddles to make frequent 2-3; 3-4; 4-3-2 shifts and I think you'll see what I'm talking about - sometime the transmission reacts immediately, other times not so much. The lack of consistency is a huge nuisance...
It's not obvious. Here's some background...you can always test it to find out :)

Yes, compared to the factors I mentioned above it's negligible. That's why radar corner reflectors are generally unpainted...it's unnecessary as long as the base substrate is metal.
