Yeah just noise. Had a tick/knock. Almost sounded like an exhaust leak or lifter. But would go away after it warmed up. When it became constant is when i pulled it all apart. It do really wish i had time to do a new cam... all factory internals. I have and was going to do new springs and seals...
2011 with almost 370k.
first major problem had some rocker arms go bad. The little pluger on the valve side got weak. And have some damage to the cam. Anyone have an idea on what could cause this type of damage? Maybe the lobe and rocker roller having slack between them?
replaced all rockers...
I owe you a beer sir! Pretty sure this could be the problem...
The guts had fallen into the valve cover so pulled it of and found these
Had to turn the cover upside down and shake it to get them out. Didn't find the little black plastic part but pretty sure it came out.
That makes sense. With all the electrical and computer controlled stuff most vehicles will be almost identical.
The only issue I had with shifting was the shift point seemed to be off. Just havent taken the time to track them I would just use the manual mode all the time. Although I do like...
I'll have to check those plugs. It's definitely not just bad fuel. I put a lot of miles on it and have already ran 2 1/2 tanks of good 91 fuel and hasn't changed.
No worries about derailment it all good info. I want to do a SC at some point and I'll definitely go with Dyno tune instead of box...
Just a thought for everyone having issues with this. My truck does have quite a few miles on it but I just did headers and when I loosened the engine mounts I noticed that they are shot. The bolt has quite a bit of play in the rubber bushing and if this was knocking it would produce a sound from...
I wish I would not have done the bbk now I didn't realize how close in size it is to the stock intake. Should have just put the money in the pot for the Whipple.
I do make sure to turn everything of even the radar detector and cell booster. I have not put a charger on it tho. I'll try...
I did do everything at once and I agree I don't think it's the tune because it ran good for the first two days. And because when I returned it to stock tune it still did the same thing.
No I'm not running a pedal commander never really liked the thought of it basically tricking the throttle...
I might look into that. I like the way the truck runs with the 5 star. The only problem that I have noticed with it is I don't like the way the trany shifts and the shift points. I have a good friend who's brother owns a high performance diesel shop but still does gasers depending on who and...
5 star tuning.
I've been talking with one of there guys and sent him a few data logs so they can see what's going on. He said it looked like a throttle body issue so I switch back to the original tb and he sent me a new tune for that and it still runs the same. I've also tried several of the...
I have a small problem with the truck idling high after I touch the gas pedal whether I'm in any gear but most noticable in park or neutral because it revs to 2 grand for about 30 seconds then idles back down to normal.
I just put kooks long tube headers, y pipe, bbk intake, s&b cold air, new...
Thanks for all the advice. Will definitely do everything I can to not break any more and impact is definitely out of the question. Put the headers on my mustang but everything was in a lot better condition as far as bolts
One other thing. I stated the wrong brand earlier they are kooks...
That's exactly what one on my mechanic friends suggested I'm just nervous about trying it with the engine in the truck because of room. Don't want to get it apart then find out I have to pull the motor. Current driveway is gravel. Do you know if there is a way to get enough access to do all that.
So I need a little advice on how to get the broken header bolts out of the block. Wondering if someone has had experience with this issue. If there is a thread about this already please point me in the right direction.
It's the two studs that are on the back exhaust port on the passenger side...
I think I may have the wrong CV axle in the passenger side and I can't find any measurements between the CV joints if someone wouldn't mind measuring theirs so I can compare them. The problem is I have a bad knock (not the shocks for sure) in the front passenger side when the suspension drops...
They must have upped there price the one i see that has all of those components is $276. If it is a good quality kit and i don't have to piece it together it is probably worth it.
Thanks. I've been debating on getting them added I'm just nervous the gain versus cost

What regulator set up did you use and how's the quality of the parts? I just got a bottle today wanting to find a...
Thank you for that I'm sure i will need some help at some point. I'm not to familiar with shocks at all. I have a medium amount of mech knowledge but im hoping that I'm not getting in to deep with the shocks. I've also thought about doing flutter stacks for the small bumps and wash board but i...
