    Deaver Rust

When my Deavers arrived on the pallet they 1: looked like they had sat outside for a few months to "condition" the metal, then 2: were painted with a brush and a roller by a 2nd grader (not to demean your 2nd grader, I am sure they are very talented and capable of painting ;-)) I was considering...

Help ID these wire terminals (upfitter relay block)

Thanks, I have found those before and saw them at the auto parts store. They are close but not exact and I don't think they'll work but haven't actually test fit them. Both long sides are folded inward on these while the Ford terminal only has one side folded in. The upfitter relays are Ford...

Help ID these wire terminals (upfitter relay block)

Guys, A long time ago I tried finding a clean/no-cut solution for this and got nowhere. A recent radio and GPS install got me back into the wiring on my truck. Instead of jumping the output of the upfitters relays (that appear under the dash) to the pass-though wire back out to the engine bay...

Major Screw Up While Installing Rear Shock Guards?

Put a ratchet strap around the shock, eye to eye, and compress the shock back to a length were you can install. You probably can't slip the S hook out of the bracket so maybe sacrifice a strap and cut one hook off, tie a loop in that end and make sure the knot can slip back out. The shock...

    Deavers +3 w/SVC traction bars.

I got my Deavers from SVC and they shipped with a new factory nut/bolt to replace the one you have to cut off. For a hot minute I considered dropping the fuel tank because I had the bed off and the truck in the air. I decided against it, god forbid you'd have to drop a spring on the trail but...

    Near Disaster in the Desert!!

Good stuff. Glad you were able to assist and they had cel service. Its shocking how quickly things can go south on you. I always play the game "what if" when we are out. What if the truck died, what if we ran out of water, what if someone fell, etc. Keeps you in the mindset that shit can and...

Cool. If all goes as planned I may even have my chase radio installed by then and can break it in proper.

    Baja 1000

Watching this thread as I might join up. I am in NorCal and it's only 603 miles. At 12 mpg (Gen 1) that's about 1.5 tanks (36 gals) or ~$357 dollars (CA prices) :p Where you guys coming from and I suspect any pavement princess could make the trip the Ensenada?

    Another mod

I wish B&M made a "dual gate" for the Raptor! All you old dudes (like me) will remember those from our high school car years. One side would be P-R-N-D-1-2 and the other M with +/- for slapping shifting up and down :driver:

    Oh the stupid!!

When I was doing the rear suspension on my truck I took the bed off to make things easier. I get a lot of walkers coming by my house as there is a trail head just at the end of the street. One guy stopped and asked what I was doing, told me he was a mechanic and works on cars all the time. His...

    headed to fallon nevada

Probably do this in addition to our regular trip, we usually go in August sometime. Camp out most likely. We stock up on ammo on the way out too! Got a pin drop or map coordinates where you hang?

Putting this on my calendar now! My son and I do a run to Winnemucca (above Nixon) before he returns to school every year and this sounds right up our ally.

    Bay Area Newbie Checking In

Welcome to the club. I'm in Marin Country (please spare me the comments) :p Not much close by for the Raptor but plenty of Starbucks and In and Out curbs to jump. I really like the area north of Reno/Sparks out in BLM space. Off the main highway 447 by Pyrimad Lake there are tons of roads you...

    Raptor in a Hole

As a young man, and not totally grasping how a roots type blower actually works, i thought that was the coolest thing ever and wanted to put on my car. My dad, who was a trucker had to explain to me how blowers really work. Loved how they used a hi/low range knob to activate, I was pretty...

    Single Spare Bed Carrier Setup

Most of the clamping force comes from the strap over the top to the factory tie downs on the bed sides. The strap across the front is the keep the tire upright and actually the 35" tires ends up tilting away from the can a bit and it doesn't move at all once strapped down. The tie down tracks on...

    Single Spare Bed Carrier Setup

I had my bed off and replaced the bolts. I added the Dodge D-rings and was going to strap my tire like this as well but then realized I really didn't have any bed space to work with. I ended up with this config. I really like it for normal driving and basic off roading. Two spare tires and a...

    First outing, SVC mid travel

Nice rig. Even the lower end SVC set up I have (Gen 1) is a huge improvement. Love thier stuff. I have the traction bars too and with the +3 Deavers I can't notice any droop loss but I didn't measure before and after. I rub a bit too so fenders are next for me.
