Gen 1 6.2l, and I was getting 14ish and my tensioner pulley went out. Upon replacing it with an autozone 24 dollar special im now finally back up to the higher 15ishes! It's been years so a new belt and tension pulley might be in order if your higher on the mileage.
I paid 32k in 2014 for a 2012 with 30k miles on her. Lol, rebuilt title! Fully loaded with Leer shell and carpet kit. She now has 125k on the meter and I've been slowly rebuilding the wear and tare. I towed a lot with her up in the high 9k so I rebuilt the rear diff, new plugs, 100k stuff...
Ya the Ford dealer would change it for you but they would argue that it's fine as nd then sabotage something else while it's in. Like they'll put a pin hole in your lower radiator hose thst only presents itself when it's cold that way you keep bringing it in!

I would listen to the motor and if there's a ticking going on. Tick tick tick with idle I'd replace the canister purge valve. You'll know it if your not getting 15+ on the highway.
