Update: Truck is getting evaluated at a dealership in El Paso Texas finally. Ford rep is helping move things along and will hear back in a couple days on what is going to happen now.

What ideas have people come up with to lock the spare on your rear tire carriers? any wire cable locks that work?

Bought the ADD rear tire carrier. To open the gate you have to remove bolts every time. PITA Can anyone point me to a quick release pin that would work to open the rear tire carrier?

Yup that is same problem. check your build date. Mine may have been leaking before trip and didn't notice till trip. It got significantly worse with the prolonged driving and heat.

I didnt find the TSB or service advisory on the national listing site either but my service advisor at earnhardt told me they read it themselves.

We were going to do that but they would charge me minimum $800 to have it towed back to El Paso after the repair and parts are not available for the fix until mid July. Earnhardt Ford said sorry but they aren't the dealer so they arent going to take on the problem.
