On my way to the Off Road Expo in Louisville for the weekend. Wife can't make it and I have a 2 day pro pass available. First to PM me can have it... I should be in Louisville by 4-5pm today (Friday)
You're absolutely correct. In fact, unless you are buying them as an investment I would rather have a clone to drive and enjoy on weekends, to shows and out for dinner.
I kept a page of the last few cars I had. Of course, they are all gone now. But notice the 62 413 in the top row. Talk about a...
Yeah, I would think it would be similar as far as durability. I know the installer told me that he was impressed with the material and said it was pretty forgiving.
I agree. I was in the muscle car business for 10 years and would frequently have to tell people that the SS, Z28, Cuda, Road Runner, etc. were clones and not the real thing. But they got taken advantage of. What a shame.
So I am coming home yesterday and I see a nice Classic Mustang not far behind me. I turn into my neighborhood and he is still behind me. He ends up following me to my house, gets out and introduces himself. He is in a beautiful 1970 Mustang. He tells me that he is getting a Raptor tomorrow and...
Wanted something with a textured finish. Got these from Josh at Designs N Signs. Found what I wanted from Hexis Vinyl and Josh ordered it for me. It's called Leather and once it arrived, I noticed that it is very close to the factory dash on our Raptors. Very pleased with the result. I wanted...
How do you handle the power requirements in the rear? Do you have some sort of quick disconnect in the back? I assume you would have to use pretty large wire to run that ditance to supply the needed amps a winch draws.
Hey Yukon, I have read that thread and find the information as a great resource. I'll have to look more closely at the ability to winch backwards. I just can't wrap my head around it. The winch is always pulling in one direction, which is towards the first point in front of it. Winching...
Most Winches in this size range use the same 4 bolt pattern, so that part is easy. You would have to come up with a quick disconnect for the electrical though, and a way to get power in the back.
I got it directly from their web site. PM me your email and I send you an email offer for the mount at $190 shipped and you can see if it is still good.
I think you are pretty close on the added weight, but it is not something that is noticeable and certainly less than most of the after market bumpers with winches.
Well, 1 more little mod checked off my list! I had been looking at bumpers and winches for some time and finally decided I like the look of the front of the Raptor the way Ford originally designed it best. So I got the ICI hidden winch mount and the Superwinch Talon 12.5 with Dyneema rope. I...
+1 on that.. I better be on a hell of a hill before I use a parking break. I grew up in Alaska and my dad taught me not to use them because they would freeze from our wet roads and cold nights. Now I' almost 60 and the habit just stayed with me. Never an issue..
Installed 4 Apollo lights.
Got 4 of the 5w Apollo lights from @Nick@Apollo-Optics. 2 amber and 2 flood. Wired them to #3 & 4 of the upfitter switches. Install would have went better had I remembered what Nick told me about not using the wiring harness that came with the Ridgid mount kit...
