I only have 500 miles on them so far, right now the noise I estimate to be maybe 5% louder than the stock tires. Interesting to me that they get louder as they wear more. I got mine at a local tire shop installed for $1505.
My local detailer who also has his own tire shop said I should...
Hey Fellas,
I have almost 2 years and 31,000 miles on my first set of stock tires on my 2011 6.2 Raptor. My tires are finally starting to "jiggle" or vibrate the steering wheel, time to get a new set of tires.
I want something with a more aggressive tread pattern and wider than the OEM tires...
Hey,
I found a few videos on youtube like this:
nitto mud grapplers howl - YouTube
Those are some loud tires at speed!
I've got an electric cutout on my Raptor, but I've grown used to it... I like it loud and I am really no longer self conscious of it... sometimes I have to check...
1) I figured its removable if I ever wanted to stick a different color under there.
2) Duct Tape is a PITA to remove
3) Because its not sliding around, It shouldn't wear the paint away and whatever dirt/grime gets under there... there's already hundreds of places/cracks/crevices on...
Oh, I say its the perfect width because there are no wrinkles or folds in the duct tape and it is neatly held flat in place by the vent itself against the painted body work and the clips keep it from sliding up or down due to vibrations...
This red tape idea will not let it slide around or...
Hi All,
We've all seen the very cool light strips that need to be hard wired in and others have gone to a local sign shop and gotten some scrap pieces of vinyl...
I'm sorry I don't have pictures... no point, I'm sure you've got an adequate imagination...
But, here's what I just did...
I hope you guys are right... I don't have the time or energy to put chains on and off...
We live on a small hill in the N. Georgia mountains and traditionally have had to leave our 4WD vehicles at the bottom of the hill because I can't get up the driveway in winter snow... too steep on...
I want to get some DVD screens in the rear head rest for my kids... where does the dvd player go?
Is it a headliner unit? Or do you swap out the CD player in the console for a DVD player?
I had a V1 once for about 6 years... sent it back to V1 for an "upgrade", cost was about half of a new V1. They changed some of the software. I thought that all they did was flash the memory chip or something... but instead, they sent me back a whole new unit.
On their website, there's...
Funny, I just recently made this post and think I may have had my first "clunk" that day too...
I was at a stop light, and jammed on the gas... It sounded like I ran over a bolt or something, I couldn't tell if came from the right or left rear tire... but it sounded like a "pop"... is that...
Talked to the Ford place I bought the truck from, they looked up the VIN on the "Oasis System" which is part of their TSB network.
They said that with my truck being built 3-17-11, it was trucks before 3-12-11 that had issues... even though I've got a "BB" code driveshaft, it does not need to...
Took my Raptor to the local dealer last night... told them I had a build date of 3/11 and have the BB code drive shaft. I gave them the 11B25 Program Announcement code and they called back today to tell me there is no recall on my drive shaft and it didn't need to be replaced?
He took my...
Hey Fellas,
I might be having an off day, but I used the search button and can't find the thread now...
There was a thread about 2011 Raptors having some kind of faulty drive shaft...
My 2011 SCREW was built March 2011, purchased April 2011... looking on the drive shaft, it has a couple...
No disrespect to the OP... but they use "Quick Time Performance" cutouts... the DMH cutouts are a little faster on opening/closing...
And FWIW, My DMH was $199 (with Y pipe) and $100 bucks installed at the local Midas shop.
I haven't poked and prodded around the gas tank opening yet... but how does a "capless" opening like that work?
You try pushing the metal flap with your finger and it doesn't move/open, but you can use a gas nozzel or the adapter they give you to use a portable can... what's the magic trick?
I may be one of the few anal retentive guys who read the entire manual cover to cover... but it specifically says in the manual that "warming up the vehicle is not required".
I guess if you plan to keep the truck and drive the wheels off, then any added security helps... but most folks only...
As I keep reading the other raptorforum, it seems folks have been having problems with the Truxxx leveling kit.
Will the Ford Dealership do the top perch adjustment for me?
I also read that you can run 37" tires on a stock Raptor with no problems IF the factory Foxx Shocks are adjusted... BUT...
Who does a body lift? Can/Will the Ford Dealership do it?
Isn't a body lift just a bunch of "pucks" or "spacers"... IIRC, like maybe 12-16 total?
What's a body lift going to cost for the kit and any online sources to buy from? I can't find one for a 2011 F150 body lift.
Maybe just...
