Need air horns or is stock horn Legit on Raptors?

If you use that train horn on the road and someone gets hurt in an accident as a result, have fun being sued for everything you own.. and losing easily.

    Reviews? First drives?

I mean, realistically, what value does a prospective Raptor owner even get out of a test drive? What could happen during a five-minute test drive that would make someone walk away? I'd be more concerned with seeing the interior layout/styling in person than an actual test drive. But lack of...

Ford Gen3 Raptor and it's future- R's in greater #'s?

Some may, but I don't think many will. Even if the R beats the TRX power on paper, it is almost certain to be more expensive, and the general populace prefers the 1500 interior over the 150. Still, some of us who were raised on Raptors do harbor a fantasy of the perfect R enticing us back to...

Ford Gen3 Raptor and it's future- R's in greater #'s?

At no point did I say that the TRX is superior to a Gen 3! Different people have different needs and budgets. I merely enjoy pushing back against the fanboi herd mentality and misinformation. I like it when all sides are informed, open-minded, and willing to self-critique. And stirring the...

Ford Gen3 Raptor and it's future- R's in greater #'s?

Mm, I don't think FCA approaches the TRX any differently than Ford does the Raptor. One of the bigwigs at FCA (CEO? President? I forget) already said the Hellcat is going away in a couple of years. Maybe the TRX lives on in a neutered V6 form, who knows. I think both companies enjoy the...

Ford Gen3 Raptor and it's future- R's in greater #'s?

Who cares? I think it is really cool that a stock production vehicle completed the Baja 1000, I really do. But it changes nothing about your truck or ownership experience. Meanwhile, you have other stock Raptors who can't even complete an FRF event without breaking down.. The Baja thing was...

Ford Gen3 Raptor and it's future- R's in greater #'s?

Wow.. a well-reasoned, open-minded, thoughtful post involving the Gen 3 and TRX. Are we.. is this - did I die?

Ford Gen3 Raptor and it's future- R's in greater #'s?

Missed some more gems in your post. You: "Ford purpose-built an off-road truck... the RIGHT way." Also you: "RAM purpose-built an off-road truck... the WRONG way." LOOOL, seriously? On what basis can you claim to know how and why the trucks were designed? Both are built on wider frames with...

Ford Gen3 Raptor and it's future- R's in greater #'s?

This is one of my main concerns as well. However, it isn't as wide a gulf as you may think: the RAM engineers have also had 10 years of Raptors to tear apart and use as benchmarks. It's not like they had to completely design an off-road truck in a vacuum - Ford did the heavy lifting up front...

Ford Gen3 Raptor and it's future- R's in greater #'s?

This post made me LOL. You: "I love the Raptor's different drive modes, like Sport and Baja. They're so unique and fun." Also you: "The TRX's different drive modes, like Sport and Baja, just feel forced and fake." LOOOOL. Lots of people here who have never driven a TRX, ridden in a TRX, or...

Ford Gen3 Raptor and it's future- R's in greater #'s?

Most of those results are either drag races or talking heads who say nothing that isn't in the manual. Very little of substance. But there ARE a few worth showing: Go to 14:20. TRX races a Velociraptor in sand and wins easily. Go to 11:00 for summary. These guys, Keep It Dirty Offroad...

Ford Gen3 Raptor and it's future- R's in greater #'s?

I am a former Gen 1 owner who skipped Gen 2, then decided on a TRX over Gen 3. If the Raptor R is a superior product to the TRX, I will happily switch back to Ford. I suspect many people out there are like me - the best truck earns the business.

For those of you that want to see black interior

I read somewhere awhile ago that they are both black, and the main difference are the seat inserts and the stitching color. 801A has bronze stitching; can't remember 800A. This is purely from memory and may be completely wrong.

Have a VIN and Scheduled July 19th!!

They may not sit on the lot, but once it leaves the factory, you are at the mercy of the rail companies. At that point, it matters not if you are Pri 01 or Pri ***. Shipping, like every other industry, is currently facing delays, labor shortages, etc.

    Chicago auto show

Thank you for the nuanced, unbiased, clearly believable review. On that note.. when do official publication reviews typically come out? With production (allegedly) underway, I'd have thought we'd see some by now.

For those of you that want to see black interior

Nope, I'm still here! Never said the seat inserts were definitely green.. all I did was ask the question based on the screenshot conveniently provided above! Also don't think I said that all trucks would be delayed until 22.. just that the majority of people on here would not see them! On...

    Carnivore pushed Back

Gen 3 will be slightly better offroad, I think. Suspension is better and truck is lighter. In the hands of a VERY capable driver, the TRX's power might give an edge on a closed course. But for 99% of offroading use, I see the Gen 3 marginally better than TRX, though probably not to a point...

    Carnivore pushed Back

So much envy dripping from your words! What are you basing that statement on? Literally every single former Gen 2 owner who has switched to TRX says that TRX rides and performs better on- AND off-road.

Let’s be honest- The Raptor R is going to be expensive!

If you browse the TRX forums, that's really not the case. A nicely equipped TRX (with 801A equivalent) is about $85k average. An extra 15k over that would undoubtedly price plenty of potential buyers out. Plus, a price exceeding 100k (six figures) is a psychological hurdle that I'm not sure...

Will it be faster than a TRX???

Range is about 300 mi with spirited local driving, and 400 mi highway. Not sure how that's a dealbreaker.

Will it be faster than a TRX???

How is it impressive? It was not a race from a dead stop.. they were both rolling along around 20 MPH before stepping on it. Also does not show what mode the TRX is in, or whether or not the TRX driver really "tried" to win, etc. But LOL in general at anyone trying to compare a tuned/upgraded...
