So I am basically a newb when it comes to these radios. I bought a TYT TH-9000D. It says it has a scan function where I can scroll through the channels but from everything I've read on here I have to have the channels we use programmed into it? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

So I was just wondering if anybody off roads with 2 spares, one under the bed and one in the bed? I have a cover and thought it would be nice to use it off road but I've heard having one spare under the bed is bad while off roading. Any opinions on this?
