I ran around for 2 weeks with open headers and I hated it because it was too loud for daily driving.
When I got the headers installed in Houston, it was a 5 hour drive back to Austin, because of traffic, and my ears felt like they were bleeding. Cutouts won't bother me since I can have it loud...
I already have a pretty obnoxious setup with Kooks long tube headers, no cats, and a custom lightning exit with a Borla muffler which I absolutely love. BUT I'm interested in making it crazier by adding an electronic cutout for those days I'm feeling frisky. I know the electronic cutouts aren't...
Don't get me wrong, cold start is still loud with this setup but compared to what it was with straight pipes off the catless Kooks, it's quiet.
But yes, I still love this setup.
Just got the Borla ProXS muffler installed and the custom Lightning style exit done.
Here is the exhaust setup now..
-Kooks Longtube Headers with NO Cats
-Borla ProXS Muffler Model #40349
-Custom Lightning Style Exit
-Corsa Cold Air Intake

Got the Borla Pro XS installed this morning with custom Lightning style exit. It is WAYYYYY quieter now on cold start, now my neighbors won't hate me! It still retains the loudness when you stomp on it which I wanted. Crusing at 70-85 there was no drone and the cabin stayed pretty quiet compared...
I agree! I've never heard Borla exhaust in person but I read all good things. With the muffler changing the exhaust note and reducing the noise level a bit, I'm guessing it will sound beast and still loud enough for my liking.
Ordered a few minutes ago from Summit Racing and it will be here...
Yeah I just talked to Borla on the phone and he was guessing it would reduce the noise by 20-25% which sounds perfect. Looks like I'll be going this route for now anyways.
