You're welcome! After I shared my thoughts in the other thread this morning, I walked away form the computer, and then couldn't just let it go. Immedately felt dirty pissed and triggered, and needed to take my complaining public. Glad I was able to drag someone else off the road to emotional...
I just posted this response in another thread, but felt it was value added to also be a seperate conversation. At the very least, sharing my experience with the FRF group might help someone/someday. For CarFax, I've completely lost my faith in what they can provide. When my truck was stolen in...
I don't think that's too far off. I don't think it's costing extra money to whitewash the reports. Instead, for dealers with a national footprint w/ several dealerships for several different car manufacturers, they do enough business with carfax to naturally have all the stroke they need?
If it's the right color, the right year, and feels like a strong truck that you'll love, then continue to follow up with the dealer BUT at a discount. A previously stolen vehicle being sold by a dealer (depends on the size of the dealer i suppose) should be considered more of a liability for...
I didn't specify the calibration when i ordered the controller from COBB. If i remember correctly, all you have to do is create an account on the DSC website and there's a way to navigate to the comfort plus calibration file download.
I've only used the anti-theft map three times in the last three months, but it's good to know that COBB recommended using it sparingly. Out of curiousity, did they give you more details as to why? The real solution is to just pay the money to have a Ravelco installed. I've been dragging my...
Sorry to hear about the theft. Good thing no one was hurt. I just went through the same heartache, but they were able to catch the thieves ~5hrs after they did the master reset. Got extremely lucky. As an FYI, in addition to using the COBB anti-theft flash, I put this in the replacement...
Glad everyone walked away in your situation. I hope they hammer the drunkard. Just know, it can always be worse. Two years ago, a guy that works for my friend was on his way home from a roping in TX with his entire family in the truck. A kid driving a semi w/ a loaded tanker ran the stop sign...
On my 18', I did some lightly used 3" Geisers w/ Deaver +3HDs, and the truck was perfectly level. I wanted the 3/4" of rake and wish I had gotten ahold of the Geiser +2.5" springs instead. I never did get a good picture before/after, unfortunately. I might be able to take one and post it in the...
I didn't want to completely railroad all of the employees, while also implying that people should be careful. Since my cute attempt at a politically correct generalization failed, you're 100% correct; "honest" is the incorrect term to use. The truth comes out only if/when issues are forced...
Wow, didn't think they'd be able to sell it. Always assumed it would be sent to auction. If anyone that's interested happens to stumble on this thread....... It'll be a good truck for someone, and they can probably muscle the dealer down on price due to the carfax still showing the...
I tuned my 2018 at 95,000 miles. Stage 2 Cobb w/ FMIC and intake. I put in fresh rebuilt shocks at 115,000 with Deavers in the back and Geisers up front. It's not easy to see how bad the ride quality has gotten until you put in a set of fresh shocks (deavers and geisers helped too). The...
Larry H. Miller made things right and I was able to get the best financial outcome without having to pursue anything legally. They gave me more than fair value for my 2018, and gave me a pretty good break on the 2020 that they had on the lot. Long story short, they made things right after some...
I deleted my facebook account about 10 years ago, otherwise, i'd love to join the group. That said, I was curious if you guys have a couple local mechanics you trust? The dealer is working to get me into a 2020 that they have on the lot. I'd like an outside party to look at a couple things...
Feels like they’re going to try to screw me over, and limit their exposure to loss of profit. My good faith was freely given to them to perform the repairs. Now that it has been breached, I think they’re going to rely on offering me a little more than insurance would provide to fix the vehicle...
