Dirty Deeds is a southern California company started by Keith Carty @dirtydeeds. While Keith and Dirty Deeds have been around for a number of years, Keith has been building some down right impressive exhaust systems for all kinds of race vehicles, but with a large focus on Toyota Tundras, Tacomas and FJ Cruisers. His name is widely known across the Toyota scene and gaining a lot of popularity in Raptor market now as well.

The Dirty Deeds exhaust system is incredibly unique in the sense that it is highly customizable. The current exhaust offering utilizes three inch piping with the 'Lightning' style exhaust exit just in front of the rear tires and very near to the side steps. With the intent to create an exhaust that is tucked up out of the way of the rear suspension and the terrain below the truck, this system not only looks great but sounds awesome. Each system also utilizes a Helmholtz resonator. What does this mean you ask? All the rumble and great 6.2L V8 sound when you mash the pedal and almost zero drone on the highway. Want really loud? We can do that. Want a more mild sound? No problem. The Dirty Deeds exhaust comes with your choice of a 12" muffler all the way up to 24" muffler so the sound of this exhaust is completely up to you.

The exhaust is currently offered for 2010-2014 6.2L scabs and crew cabs in two metal types; aluminized steel and stainless steel. Each exhaust is hand built in the US, comes complete with the Helmholtz resonator and includes your choice of muffler size. Another great feature about this exhaust is it has an additional exhaust hanger that is located near the exit tip for extra built in strength (new beefed upped hanger pictured below). After assembly, it is treated to a paint thinner and scotchbrite rub down. Once this is complete, the exhaust receives a full acetone rinse to remove any possible remaining contaminants. Finally a two part heavy duty, high temperature black paint/coating is applied to protect it from the elements.

Retail on the aluminized steel exhaust is $595 and the stainless steel is $695. If you're in the SoCal area, you're free to pick it up as well and save yourself the shipping expense.

A couple of video clips for your viewing, well listening pleasure. This system in the first video clip uses a 16" muffler. Plenty of bark when you want it and no drone on the highway. Second clip is of a 20" muffler. Still great sound, but a little less overall than the 16".

Interesting. 2 reasons I did not do an exhaust

1 don't want drone at highway and light throttle.

2 don't want to attract attention with really loud exhaust when I do need to get on it around town. Fly low under the radar.

Seems like a good price, I think stainless for MI salt roads.
Listened to the clips. How would a 24" muffler compare to stock?

Definitely louder than stock when you get on the gas but very tame at cruising speeds. And with the Helmholtz resonator, no drone!

I've been eyeballing the Hemholtz resonator for awhile now. Questions;

Does the whole exhaust system add any noticable power/mileage gain over stock? Gotta be less back pressure than OEM.

I dont want much noise, unless I get on it (Im a stereo guy too). So how big of a muffler can I get on a Scab?

How much for the Hemholtz resonator alone?
Thanks

I have a 24" it's nice. 75 mph and you don't really notice it. It can be a little loud when under load or heavy acceleration but not too bad. It is louder than stock but I love the routing of it and it's out of the way of my suspension.

@Otis857 @AZEngineer

By just adding a catback exhaust will add some power and a slight increase in fuel economy (if you stay out of the gas pedal). As a standalone power add on to a Raptor however it won't be real noticeable. Now an intake, exhaust and a tuner would definitely be noticeable and also likely increase MPG dependent upon how you drive.

With the Dirty Deeds exhaust it is a lightning style and exits out by the rear passenger door. Bringing the pipe closer to the cab will increase overall 'noise' produced from the exhaust. We recommend the 20" muffler to those who are looking for a good growl when you get on the gas but also looking for a system really quiets down for cruising at highway speeds. Adding some basic sound deadener to the cab, doors, back wall, floor, etc is also a good way to keep the exhaust sound outside and your stereo inside. All of the mufflers 12" to 24" are louder than stock but again, exiting by the cab versus by the rear bumper plays into the increase in sound.

Will check into pricing for the helmholtz resonator as a stand alone sales item.

I must have gotten the QUIETEST 12 inch muffler DD sells. I'll post up clips this weekend; I love the LACK of drone but am kinda disappointed with the bark.

Who cares where this is sent from?

I have one of these mufflers and I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to make it a bit louder? I went with the 24" and I'd like a bit more noise.
