This year will be my first trip to experience this event. What should I expect? What to bring and how to prepare? What are people doing at the event while your not running the course? It will be a 12 hour drive for me so I'm trying to be as prepared as possible. Thanks for any info.

Expect rain, sun, dust and a f'in good time! Bring oil, tires, a jack and window cleaner. I brought a small trailer last year so I could leave all the stuff out of the back of my truck in it to keep the weight down. It was also a great place to hang out and keep a stocked cooler in. We set up one of those pop-up canopies to hang out under.

When we weren't out on the trail, we wondered around in the pit area, where all the vendors are staged. Great time to meet some of the people that you talk to on the phone. Most of them offer some pretty good deals, and some even do installs.

When the vendors are shut down, we just walked around and talked to all the other people that were there. Looked at other Raptors. Made lists of stuff we need to make our trucks better. Meet a lot of other FRF members to put faces to the names.

At the end of the weekend, we attended a great cookout and a raffle under a big tent.

Got there on Friday and left out Monday morning. Really a good time. Great time to learn exactly what you and your truck can handle. Meet some other fanatics. You're going to have a blast!!!

You can either camp or get a hotel. The hotel is a good 30-45 mins from the run site so if you want to partake in evening shenanigans and drink adult beverages, bring a tent or find a DD. Overall, it's a blast. Walk around, shoot the breeze with vendors and the Raptor owners. Everybody there wants to show off what they've done to their truck and will be more than willing to talk your ear off. Trust me, you'll have a hard time getting back on the course talking to a few of the Raptor owners...but who can blame them? They typically have a pretty badass truck!

Bring cash for either mods (most vendors will take a CC though, including us) or more importantly, food. They have a "food truck" out there that serves burgers. And they're pretty damn good. Especially when you have a monster hangover. Not that I would know :drink_nl:

Oh, and if you want to ride in a truck who has mods you want, just ask. You'll be hard pressed to find somebody who doesn't want to show off what their truck can do!

Exactly as @2014RubyRed stated I think he hit the hammer on the nail. Last year was my first year attending and it was pretty damn awesome, aside from all of the rain but getting to meet face to face with the people that we talk to regularly on social media was and is a plus.

Pitching in gas money for a run to the Texas Roadhouse in San Angelo, and also seeing someone in the process of breaking into a vehicle on a dark street on said dinner run.
