It seems to me that when I hit a particularly sharp bump in the road, the LH headlight beam shakes quite a bit. It seems to really only be on the left side.

Anyone else had this issue or is this 'normal'? Thanks!

Mine does the same thing. '14 with HID's. But I thought it was because of the Boatec fenders I installed. Don't really know the cause. I've checked everything out and it seems tight. Let me know if you figure something out.....

I've noticed that in other headlights too. I think all headlights do the same but you notice it more with a projector headlight because of the sharp cut-off of light across the top. I'm not too sure though.

I have same on my passenger side and haven't find whats wrong with it. Annoying as hell to watch that every time you hit on some small bump. looking forward to see if someone figures the fix for this.

I'm surprised no one ever put the correct answer on here as to why you guys are seeing this. It is because of the cutoff shield that is up when you have low beams on. When you hit a bump, that shield is moving ever-so-slightly causing it to appear that your lights are "flickering." When your high beams are on, that shield is moved to allow the full beam of light, so I doubt anyone would see this same effect with the high beams on.

And no, it is not specific to the Ford HIDs.

This picture here shows how the shield works. It is kind of the opposite of how you would think. The shield blocks the lower part of the beam in front of the lens:

Anyway, that shield is what is "bouncing" and making the light "flicker." I notice it a little over bigger bumps, but they're still 198989088 times better than the stock halogens. I will take some "bouncing" of light every once in a while over halogens any day.

Or so I've read...

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will try with high beams next opportunity. Odd that it only seems to be on the driver's side though. Perhaps that's just because of driver's perspective?

I hate to take anything to the dealer because they say everything is 'normal'. At least while it's under warranty that is. LOL

Same problem seems to exist with HB on... More noticeable with LB though. And really it's just the bottom edge so could be something to what TrickRaptor and HAP are saying...

Good to know. Mine do this all the time. Wondered if there was a problem now I know.
Thanks for the info!
