I've said it so many times....more power, lighter weight by 500 lbs, 10 speed transmission, better interior, I think it looks much better, more aggressive and modern etc etc etc.

No hate, just a comment based on past banter...:happy160:

I suppose we are just splitting hairs, I was just trying to make the point that those are several reasons it COULD be better but until it's proven you can't rely simply on the newer is better mentality. That's which is why I plan on waiting a year or two until it's been proven and the fat lady has sung to get mine. I think it's gonna be a hell of a truck one day, even if there are kinks to work out at the beginning so hopefully we can't at least agree on that.

Not sure what you're into man lol.

It's not a 'chat room'. It's a place where we all go to talk and get to learn about each other's thought processes. You know, what makes us all tick.....

I think it would be enlightening for all of us.

I don't really care to learn what makes you tick :lol2:

There will be growing pains for certain.

Sorry but gen2 just doesn't have that shock and awe for me anymore. It may perform well and possibly even survive in the desert (although I doubt it long term) but it's just not a beast anymore. I will preface this with, I may still own one someday but I'm just not going to pay new prices for it. I guess I had a lot higher hopes on the looks side but my initial impression since last January hasn't changed...still meh. GL to those who are excited to add one to their stable! Now if they decide to throw some sort of 600 hp v8 in there, I may reconsider lol!

I think that all the BS between few of the older GEN 1 and a few newer GEN 2 guys is getting very old. GEN 2 Fans please think before you post and you don't have to resound to all the comments made Good or Bad. Accept the fact that the GEN 2 is not for everybody and it may not be perceived as a step forward to some. Lets put the BS to bed.

As of now I like both trucks for different reasons but the GEN 2 may or may not be a step forward and I hope not a step backward but I will only know that after I get my hands on one in the real world. So for now I am waiting patiently and loving my GEN 1.

Gen 1 was an attempt to prove that an OEM truck could be a legitimate off road vehicle; engineered and warranteed to succeed where others would fail. Gen 2 is an attempt to ride those coattails by using the name recognition to buy street cred for their V6 ecoboost platform. Doesn't make it better or worse. Rather, it just is.

It's like a theme around here...

Gen II sucks. It'll never be as badass as Gen I. I'm a Gen I owner, I'm watching and waiting for Gen II to get the bugs worked out and then I'll jump in with both feet and no one will remember how bad I bagged on the Gen II for so long as a Gen I owner. Oh, and the used Gen I prices will never go down even after the Gen II's are on the lots.

AKA...

Ask a guy how he loves his beautiful wife. Then ask him what he thinks of the bitch after he goes through a bitter divorce and she and her lawyer take him for everything.

So you guarantee that the Gen II won't be as good as the Gen I? Seriously. I am asking you that question.

How will the:

Suspensions compare?
The HP compare?
The weight compare?
The transmissions compare?
The interiors compare?
The looks compare?
The performance compare?
Etc.

Take your time. I can wait - even until the Gen II's are at the dealerships for you to respond.
