I just did mine and it took me 6 hours total for all 16.
I did the upper plugs in 3.5 hours and the lower plugs took 2.5 hours.
I know that seems long but I took my time with each plug and made sure each new plug was properly gapped and torqued.

Not sure if I screwed up on the torque but I came up with 159 inch pounds not 106 inch pounds.

The manual I am using tells me that the torque is 159 inch pounds. Please let me know if the manual was wrong and I spent all that time and over torqued the plugs!!

106 was straight out of the Ford service manual. It could have changed since I posted it. The difference is so slight I wouldn't worry about it. This way you know they won't fall out

Old Spark Plug gap after removal from engine

Has anyone measured the spark plug gaps of each old spark plug after removing it from their engine?

When I did mine, I checked each spark plug to see what the gap was after removing them and found that the gaps varied a lot.

The gaps ranged from a tight .044" to a loose .050"

I find it hard to believe that after only 65,000 miles the gaps would be that different from one another.
Just wanted to see if anyone else that changed their own spark plugs had checked to see what the gaps were on the old plugs to see if this is a common thing.

I'm just wondering if the factory really gaps the plugs at .044" during assembly or if they just put the plugs in without gapping them.

Changing mine at about 95k really made a big difference.
I'm very happy I did it.

I found the OEM plug's tip is different, 8 of them each... gap size varies.
