Who knows. That's the million dollar question everyone wants to know. I know that with just a tuner that I pushed my truck to hard at Snoball. Seals and a possible cracked torque converter being done now. Thats $2200.00 minimum. If I didn't have the warranty, that would be pretty expensive. And I bet you money that Ford will have some serious technology in the ECU to monitor guys messing with the basics to protect themselves. Turbos are REALLY expensive to replace. Like $3k - $4k expensive. Each. That could add up pretty quickly......

Ford has been super **** about warranting catastrophic damage for the current ecoboost engines after they've been tuned. I imagine they won't change policy for the gen2 Eco.

But like Wilson already said, the 6.2 was breaking other things before it was breaking. The driveshafts will twist up like a pretzel and I know my transmission loses the battle and gets hot when push comes to shove Offroad. I need a cooler pretty bad.

Especially on a truck that they know, by coming here and looking around, that we all mess with a little. I know some guys have done some over the top stuff with these things, but if I tuned it and added a CAI on it and some other stuff and they denied me for that, I'd be driving a bow-tie the next week!

A tuned 6.2 is easier to sneak by as they have very few problems and not constantly on Fords radar.

All I know is that I had an early ecoboost F150 that had turbo several turbo failures leaving me stranded in suburbia. It took a ton of effort to get Ford to cover the repairs on a BONE stock truck... I'd hate to try getting warranty work done with modified turbos, tune, etc.

With that said, I know they have improved everything about the ecoboost since it was released. I can only hope that they will become more relaxed when it comes to warranty work on this new one. Especially knowing how some of these trucks will be ran.
