I just hope it turns off when I hit that baja mode switch on the way to the garden center.

Personally, it's hard for me to imagine an off-road truck not having a key ignition much less auto stop. I rode in an Audi car the other day and the auto stop was annoying because I have a heavy foot at red lights.

Why do people care about gas saving technology in an off-road truck? Seriously, how about you try some technology called a Whipple supercharger! Guaranteed to change your mpg for better or for worse :driver:

I believe Ford has been spanning the FRF and probably seen a few posts from ma about the Gen III Raptor being Hybrid.

DAMN IT Ford! Can't you tell when someone is being sarcastic...? I was friggin JOKING! Don't do it, and don't be that company!

WTF, did Toyota buy Ford, and we'll all be driving Prius....

Maybe just maybe itll be a driving mode for those who want it. I dont know about you but I personally dont like burning money when I dont have to. Why? Because it leaves more money for mods, other toys, and more gas to go further. So maybe the stop/start could be used in 'normal' mode so if you want it you can have it on. Then if youre on the street and dont want it you can put the truck in 'street' mode and voila, no start stop. Its weird that the Raptor has 'street' mode anyways so its gotta do something different than normal so might as well make it turn off stop/start.

I am starting to think Gen I Raptor owners would be ecstatic to hear carbs and points are coming back

Bottom line is fuel standards are getting tougher, and if you want to drive high performance vehicles they will have to get more techy. Super Car builders are doing all sorts of crazy things to keep from being legislated out of existence. To an extent fuel mileage standards are good. To the extent they are being driven by the man made global warming hoax, that is bad. But either way, gas guzzling, inefficient, monster iron big blocks are out.

Not being too much of a Nancy here, but do you really think Ford is going to install all this start/stop fuel savings dial gadgetry for free? Is the government gonna give us a tax credit for buying it? All this fancy stop go shit isn't developed and installed for nothing. I'm all about installing energy efficient stuff in my home. Hell I just spent $40k + to update all the windows and doors in my house. You know why? Because it makes the house better. It will take me 30 yrs or more to break even on the expense though. I just don't think this particular new thingy is going to do that much for us in the Raptor world. I would bet half or more of the people, if given the ability, would just shut it off or disarm it anyway.
