Update.

I do know I have accidentally turned off the engine while in drive before. Then had to put in park. So maybe that did cause some sort of fault. So I went out and drove it around came back and shut off the right way :)

Still does the same thing!

Also, double checked the hood switch and it is plugged in and does go up and down and does make a clip sound so I think it is working properly.

Out of ideas.... anymore from you all.

I wonder if it does have something to do with the engine light that is on. I have pulled that code and it definitely says O2 sensor so I just ignored till I take for next oil change at Dealer. Maybe Ford has some software that won't let the remote start work in certain OBD-II fault conditions???????? Maybe if emissions system is failing they won't let you just start the truck remotely and let it run???

if it still isnt working then wires or codes must have been set off. now is the time to take it to your nearest Ford dealership, as stated by Crystal from Ford on the last page...

Thank you...so the CEL is it.

Does anyone know if the codes will reset if I discounted the battery for a bit?

no. but a certain number of key cycles without the code reoccurring will reset it. otherwise grab an obd 2 scanner or go get it serviced

Bought a code reader and reset the O2 sensor CEL code. REMOTE START WORKS! As you said Silent Shooter.

However after the a day of driving the O2 sensor code came back on and remote start no longer works.

So what do I do to get right of this O2 code permanently? Dealer? Get a tune from aftermarket? What do you all suggest? Truck is a 2012 completely stock with 38K miles so just out of warranty. But I used to think emissions things were warranted for longer.

^ Well now that you have the exact code via your code reader, you can diagnose/troubleshoot the systems pertaining to that particular O2 sensor CEL to correct the problem.

Do you know if the trouble code is related to an upstream O2 or a downstream O2 ?

It could be something as simple as a badly fouled O2 sensor, exhaust leak, etc that you might be able to fix on your own, have your local independent repair shop fix or take it to the dealership.

If you have a good relationship with your Ford dealership they may offer to split the repair costs or even comp the entire repair via an AWA (After Warranty Adjustment) - in a nutshell, it's a service that they provide (at their discretion of course) to folks with vehicles that are "just out of warranty" or thereabouts.

You can search or Google further about it or it might help to ping Crystal or whoever is currently running the @FordService screen name on our message board to see if they can offer any help with your local dealer.

G'luck !

It is code P2254: O2 Sensor Negative Current Control Circuit/Open Bank 2 Sensor 1.

Any idea how to fix. Did not see anything online but must be a common O2 issue
