Cheap Bed Ring MOD

Installed these tie down rings. Got them from Mopar Parts Overstock, RING RING-RETAINER #05104500AA for $3.44 each.
I modified my FORD mat with 3 1/2" holes to clear the rings. To align the cut out you can use lipstick or something similar to transfer the bolt center to the mat. I used a hole punch that I had, but a hole saw would work just as well to make the large hole in the mat. One thing that I found is that the dealer only torqued my bed bolts to about 20 ft lbs after having the spray liner added during the purchase. I bet some of the random popping I used to hear was coming from the bed as the frame twisted. Torqued them to the prescribed 59 ft lbs and one more simple and useful MOD complete.

@HAP, How did you get the washer off the bolt to put the d-ring on the bolt? Did you file down the ridges because it looks like the d-ring is between the top of the built-in washer and head of the bolt?
