Hey guys. Currently running the Corsa Xtreme. Really wanting to dovetail the rear and modify the exhaust for the dovetail. My only concern is that it will change the sound. It's perfect right now - loud when you want it to be, quiet when cruising, and absolutely no drone...

Has anyone modified their Corsa exhaust? If so, what are your thoughts?

you can always have a custom tailpipe setup, mount it higher or along the frame...but, if you have a spare under the bed, you'll be real close. i have a custom setup that mounts above the frame and exits right at the dovetail...i'll get some pics.

On my Corsa I just took off the chrome tips and got a 45deg turndown from Summit that is tucked just inside the edge of the truck. It required no modifications to the exhaust, just pull the old tips off and slide the new one on.

I have the same exhaust setup and have already hacked the tips off right after it drops down past the rear axle. My new bumper is getting made and dovetailing will take place with new bumper.

I have noticed a very slight increase in overall volume with hacking the tips off. Basically, the sound just sounds a little closer to the cab now (cause it physically is). I am very tempted to just dump the pipes right after the muffler. My only little concern is that it would make it too loud. I do enjoy the quiet sound when cruising.

My suggestion would be to first just hack the pipes right after it comes down after the axle. I think that's the happy medium. Gets the pipes out of the way but still pushes the sound out enough to not be annoying.

You could mount the muffler to the resonator/resonator delete pipe and run the tips right behind the side step towards the back of the cab. The muffler will fit over the resonator/resonator delete pipe.
