Did a quick search and did not find much on this. The "National Car Care Center Inc" called me up and offered a 5 year/100k mile policy for about $2,100

They said this would be equivalent to the extended care I could have purchased when buying my car.

I can cancel or close this thread if someone points me to a pre-existing thread on this. So apologies in advance if I had a search fail on this topic.

You're better off getting an ESP direct from Ford. I was going to purchase mine through Troy Fords online store but when I brought the inspection sheet to my local dealership, they matched the price.

If you buy an aftermarket warranty and the issuing company goes out of business, you have little to no recourse.

I second the Ford ESP. Try hitting up some of the retailers that offer quotes over the Internet to get an idea of the prices. I purchased mine from Flood Ford. It was around 1,500 or so for 7 years 80k miles.

That's high. Get the Ford ESP and check with your insurance company for after market coverage. Don't remember what the insurance company quoted me but it was cheap. I didn't go with it because if somebody damages mine I'll upgrade parts anyway.

The company claimed to be the same one that underwrites the Ford ESP policy's. To 'prove' it, they had my name, VIN and date of purchase on file. Not sure how this company got this info, but I guess it's not beyond the realm that Ford sold my data?

Have not heard back from the salesman who sold me my truck on this. But they said something like "your VIN is like your social security number, so no other aftermarket insurer would have this unless they underwrote the Ford ESP policys".

This could be a line of BS. They did offer me the 'fleet rate' of $2,100 if I paid the entire policy up front. If paid via a payment plan, the price would be $500 higher.

Thanks for all the input on this. And apologies if there is another aftermarket insurance thread that I missed in my search of this site.

Yes that is total BS!!! They buy a list from the state DMV that has all that info on it. Ford did not sell your info.

If they are already feeding you that much BS then stay away from that company!!!

I work for a dealer group and we can but lists of customers with vin and car info to send out mailers for advertising all the time. That is all this company did and they are trying to sound more official than they are.

If you are going to buy an ESP buy the Ford factory ESP only as others have stated.
