Hey guys, I'm thinking of wrapping an incoming oem matte black primered hood with the 3M 1080 metallic gloss black vinyl, which from what I hear is the closest thing to Tux black you can get. My only concern is that on a space as large as the hood it won't seamlessly blend with the fenders, and might stick out like a dead-tooth. The only side-by-side pictures I'm seen are small-scale (like mirrors or part of a fender flare compared to tux) that were wrapped in it and I can't get a good idea of how it'll look. Any thoughts/expirience? Thanks!

@npc5515 it will be close but not perfect, I would recommend a contrast color, like satin black or deep matte black.

if you are trying to match it, why not just have it painted?

I'm curious if anyone has used that vinyl to cover their fender flares.

I wrapped my hood and roof a few months after buying my black screw in 2013. Got the thickest flat black 3M they could find me. It has worked well and I love the look. It's not nearly as thick as clear bra, but seems to keep the smaller rock chips down but a few bigger ones have gone right through. Just as FYI for hood protection; vinyl wraps are not as protective as one might think.
