Whipple vs. Roush

That's 700 brake horsepower

Guys, you are forgetting a big factor now from a few years ago, you can order the lower HP supercharger and with a tune and the right tuner you can actually have more HP than the other unit. I buy the better quality built product every single time regardless if its rated a little lower in the HP ratings

I'll say this again, Roush does amazing stuff and I'm not knocking on anybody that chooses the package for their Raptor. It's good kit.
And I do want to point out that Stealthf1 has posted the best track time I've seen for a stock 6.2L engine in a Raptor. StangHi did an amazing Tune for him.
For a built motor you can't bet Biggest's time. But that's one sick build at 778 rwhp with the Whipple.

Now I haven't been to the track YET!!! I'm going to try this fall to go to Englishtown Raceway Park in NJ, but don't hold your breath. LOL That is not why I supercharged.
The Whipple Tune keeps on improving over time an is night and day from three years ago.

I do want point out that I still question Roush's choice with going with the Eaton compressor for their Raptor kits,
Roush uses Whipple and other SC units all day long on all different vehicles.

The TVS2300 Eaton compressor is a mass production unit that is sold cheap to auto manufactures around $540, as apposed to the Whipple compressor costing $3.500+ alone.
The Eaton blower will give moderate power without running into costly warranty issues for auto manufactures, and still be able to tell the public it's Supercharged.

Also with the Eaton blower you have to do every mod under the sun, spending big $$$,
to come close to Whipple standard upgraded kit that is just that much better in quality and efficiency and power.

Hey MTF thanks for the shoutout, best part was that was on a pretty moderate tune compared to where we've come on the tuning StangHi has for these setups. I wish I was able to have made it back to the track just to run again before we threw the 37s on.

As for the TVS man.. I'm gonna have to disagree with a few things. It's what Roush is using on the Stage 3s with the 230p and the TVS setups have been proven on high hp setups there's a couple built GT500s in LA running them and I know a few older Cobra owners who had whipples swapping over. The TVS setups have proben themselves, I even believe earlier this year or prob late last year the highest hp late model GT was running a Roush setup. I don't have anything against Whipple and to be honest when I ordered the truck I was wishing KB was going to jump on the 6.2s but they've always been hesitant in just throwing their hat in the newest and latest it they don't think theirs a big market for them.

And Biggest's build was impressive, but from what I've heard the setup wasn't exactly perfect as it didn't last that long. And I'm all about reliable power and daily drivability.

Also Roush using Whipple products on builds? That's new to me as I've never seen an example.

It seems the limitation is the 6.2 engine itself not the supercharger. Either Whipple or Rousch is capable of more than what a stock 6.2 engine can handle.

Good to hear Tunes are getting better for both setups.

Roush does use Whipple just not for Raptors.
I've seen builds somewhere in the internet, must be one offs or customer requests.

Yeah, I've never seen a Whipple or other setup on a Roush built vehicle, the TVS is used for all their applications naturally being their kit. Might have been someone swapping blowers for a build maybe.

Hey, thanks. I still get excited every time i put the key in this thing and get ready to drive. I feel like my dogs every time is ask myself "go for a ride?!"

I was thinking i had modded as mush as i should but every time MTF posts i get the itch to tweak a little more!!!

side-note: I passed 40K miles and it was running like crap. I was ready to trade it in on a Prius (kidding). Turns out these copper plugs have a much shorter life span then the stock ones. who knew. 16 new plugs and it's just like Christmas!

I will probably follow in MTF's footsteps and drop a couple pulley sizes and upgrade the fuel system. I will stick with the dyno tunes though. Big fan of Pickups Plus who does the tuning.

MTF thanks for all the information you gave us on the Whipple Supercharger. I've been trying to decide on which one to get the Roush or Whipple. You helped me make my decision and it will be the 700HP Whipple Kit from JDM. I will post pictures and Dyno sheets when they finish. If you ever make it to Englishtown let us know I would like to come and watch I'm only about 40 minutes from there. Thanks again for all the time and effort.
