what paint did you use, flat, satin, semi-gloss? Did you clear? What type of paint acrylic lacquer, acrylic enamel, acrylic urethane? Advice and photos would be greatly appreciated.

A bit of follow up on the goal. I have a race red with factory graphics. I would like the flares to match the black of the hood decal and tie the rest of the black on the truck (tinted windows, black aftermarket front and rear bumpers, satin black method wheels, door handles, hood and side graphics) together.

Painting them the same color of the truck with gloss clear coat looks awesome! If you go black satin paint, I use SEM Hot Rod Black single stage. But it will take scratches easily. If you use satin clear, only use the one from Glassurit. Lays out the cleanest, and lasts the longest. Plus it's more durable against scratches. Going with a wrap is a much more economical way to cure the scratches.

Ive painted both my trucks, one to match and bed lined the other. I love the bed liner, looks bad a$$ and holds up amazing on the trails. Its a super easy DIY

here are both of mine.

Don't Plasti Dip - it doesn't stay stuck to the flares for very long before it starts peeling off.

I plasti dipped mine about 4 months ago and it's still holding strong. I put it on pretty heavy though.

I still havent decided if I'm going to color match (tuxedo black) paint or use the 3m vinyl wrap that matches. It almost seems that it would be cheaper to have someone paint them.

Mine are rhino lined or line X I can't remember. It's nice because they used to get scratched up a lot driving through brush here in west Texas

Can you share some more info on the process you used to bedline your flares?
