So one of the things we are working on is having Avery teach Josie a new trick. This helps their bond, it's encouraging t both of them to work together & gets Josie to understand she has to listen to Avery too (that Avery isn't a fellow pup). We have been working on "Bow" which is similar to down so it's easy for both of them! This morning we were working on "bow", Avery had a small seizure & Josie immediately pawed me to alert for the seizure! So amazing! It's the only paw she gave this morning! Thank you all!

That is great news indeed! I sincerely appreciate the updates, like Joe said, people often give to worthy causes without hearing first hand about how their support helps those in need, so your updates are greatly appreciated and inspiring!

Update

Hi All! I still don't have any good video but as Avery is getting better handling Josie I will work on getting some.

I still wanted to update you all. Josie goes everywhere with Avery. So far Josie has seen fireworks, played at the beach, and even had a tour of the emergency room when Avery stuck a bead in her nose. But I can't tell you how important Josie is but Avery said it best. When I was asking Avery what she wanted for her birthday, she said, "I already have Josie & she's the best gift ever!" It really caught me off guard. I was expecting her to say American Girl or Tinkerbell something.

Thanks for the update I was just thinking about youall the other day. I hope all is well with Avery and it looks like she and Josie have become a great team.

Gosh, I don't even know where to start, other than THANK YOU! You all have invited us in and cared for us, your support & your kindness is overwhelming! Hi all! It has been a long time since I have posted, and I am sorry. But I would like to let you all know we think about you all often. Josie works hard every day and fits our family perfectly! Depending on the seizure type, Josie gives us about a 20 minute head start, which is remarkable since dogs cannot be trained to predict seizures, but there must be something she can smell because she is very accurate for seizures that have a metabolic onset. (Seizures that start because of flashing lights or very loud noises don't have a lead time so Josie isn't able to predict them but does respond to them starting.)
This is a picture of Josie smiling, she taught herself to smile for the camera. She still enjoys learning new tricks and playing games, like hide and seek.
Thank you all again, whoever might see this! Josie has been a lifesaver many times over!
