If they want to make us happy, they will! LOL

The only way Ford is going to make all you guys happy is if they do not change a thing on Gen2 except for putting a superchargers on the old school 6.2L.

Humans are creatures of habit and fear change.

I am a creature of habit. I eat the same thing for breakfast, same snacks during the day, same lunch, and change up dinner. I don't fear change, I just get used to what I like. As mentioned previously, EB motor, eh, but my biggest gripe is DI - as I've seen the valves on all DI motors after 35k-40k miles. The DI motors will require more up-keep and maintenance costs. Don't get me started on the aluminum as well, I knew repair prices would be significantly higher, as all of the tooling, equipment, and training that is required by the certified shops is why they are able to justify the higher repair costs.

At the end of the day, I know the EPA is ******** things up. However, if you buy a Ford Raptor for fuel economy, you're on crack.

The VooDoo engine would have been the answer.

Physics tell us that a v6 3.xL ecoboost is incapable of out performing a V8 5.x or 6.x supercharged engine...fear not the power of displacement! ;)

I read somewhere Ford has teamed up with Toyota to help develop that latest hybrid system which will be used in both the '17 Raptor and the Prius... something about four electric motors eliminating the need for a center diff or something like that. :p

Im sure price was a factor in the decision. No one will want a Raptor if its $75k.

Simple answer ... Racing. You will most likely see the GT at Lemans and race cars with V8s get heavily penalized at lemans. So if you are going to spend lots of money in V6 TT development than why not throw it in the Raptor so you don't have to spend extra/separate money developing another engine for the Raptor.

If so, not sure why V6 in GT then.

I don't think any of us fear change, we all want a leaner, meaner, and greener raptor, just most of us would prefer it be done by making the 6.2L the leaner, meaner, and greener machine it was meant to be, not by ford taking the easy way out and swapping it out for the greener and leaner, but definitely not meaner, ecoboost 3.5L, ford has rebuilt itself since the fall of the big 3 in a way neither Chevy nor Chrysler have been capable of, the reason for that, they took big risks, and it's been paying out with even bigger rewards, I just don't want ford to fall by the wayside again because they became complacent with their position and decide they can force feed us whatever crap products they want again like they did in the 90s

All things equal...forced induction...a supercharged 6.2 is going to beat the hell out of any (v6) ecoboost on the road today, 2017, 3017, and beyond lol

I take the ecoboost lunch almost daily. To be honest the ecoboost is a really nice motor. I have driven several. But when I put the whipple package on my raptor there was no comparison at all. Even with "true" 37" tires.

I am not against ford at all. I am sure they have millions in R&D. I personally would advise keeping your current gen raptor for as long as you can. Make your own v8 ecoboost. Not that it matters, who would have thunk I would get better fuel economy by adding my whipple.
