Well said, I agree with you 100%. This trans was developed with GM to bad the engine wasnt to. Put last years cadillac LSA in the new raptor and we'll all be happy!


How about the direct injection LT4 that's in the new caddy. 640hp and 630 lb-tq... I mean seriously, it's a luxurious Cadillac sedan.

And to add insult to injury, Ford has dropped NHRA's John Force and crew and he will now be racing for Chevy.

I'm convinced that somebody high up in Ford needs to have their man-card revoked. No more SVT, a shit sounding V6 in the mostly beastly truck they offer - and now you force John Force back to Chevy. This is beyond gay and it's sad.

The Raptor was not, and will never be about what engine is under the hood. I'm sorry to pop your street queen bubble. All it needed was decent power and reliability. The ttv6 will have the power part covered easily. Hopefully the reliability part will also be there.

No one gives a **** if some craptastic Cadillac made 5738385839 hp. That Cadillac will never jump, eat whoops, slide over berms, run over Prius's, or blast thru rough terrain and continue to drive like nothing happened. Agian, incase anyone's forgot from the previous paragraph, the Raptor is NOT a street truck and will never benefit off road with 4858295858 craptastic Cadillac hp. In fact, you would probably just break more shit.

Ford engineers do not care what gm nut gobblers have to say. Give it a rest.

There is no business sense spending 4-5 million dollars a year on a sport (NHRA) that has record low audience. Yes, it sucks to see John Force sponsored by GM but let's face it, how many parts on a funny car are mass produced manufacture parts? None. The sticker on the front is the only thing that tells us what "brand" the funny car is. At that point, what does it matter who foots the bill.

Let me know when a GM makes over 100hp per liter, N/A, in factory form. Oh.. Wait but Ford can't build a v8 worth a darn!

Is there a crisis hot line you guys call when your lswhatever v8 goes into cylinder deactivation and turns into a...... 4 BANGER!!!

Will someone please keep the door shut!!

Hmmm. Don't most of us take a stock Raptor and immediately start adding stuff to make more HP? Tunes, superchargers, intakes, headers etc. all I am saying for myself is it would be nice to start with a beefy V8. Why settle for a six banger just because that is what they want to feed us? In today's technology its not even close to an absurd request.

My biggest issue with this whole ford backing away from the v8 in the raptor is really confusing. You have dodge who just added two 707 hp cars to their lineup and still have a monster v10 that's 510 cubic inches in the viper and I ask what's the big deal with a special edition truck that makes up less than 5% of the total f-150's sold in a given year not get an improved V8. I understand this truck is better and all but really ford couldn't drop a detuned 5.8 into this or something V8 with a supercharger? Ford knows they have the baddest truck why not catapult this thing into a place where every car maker could sit back and just not even try to compete like they did back when the raptor had first hit the scene. I know the raptor is still a one of kind truck but I wouldn't be surprised if Chevy releases a main competitor to the raptor by the time the gen 2 hits dealer lots in late 2016.

Is that why they originally introduced the 6.2 into the line-up, especially for the Raptor? That alone renders your post as borderline asinine. Almost everyone here adds more power to the their stock truck and will continue to do so w/ the next gen Raptor - regardless of how much power Ford provides in stock trim. Admitting that a manufacturer gave you enough power right from the showroom floor is the opposite of everything that is Man. Ever heard of Tim the ToolMan Allen (insert grunt here).

Goodness man, you sound like one of those guys that are extremely concerned w/ mpg when you purchase a vehicle. It doesn't matter what the Raptor was designed for - as the bottom line is it would do all that it was designed to do while causing a larger smile on one's face if it has more power. If the truck is gonna break more parts w/ anything stronger than a 3.5L ecoboost v6; then we should all be concerned that Ford completely missed the boat anyways.

As for a V8 worth a damn - nobody said Ford couldn't make one. We're all asking how come Ford won't give it to us.

ps - did you bring the horsepower per liter argument into this?? wow:supergay: honda forums are calling your name.

Easy solution if you don't like Ford's choice to put a TTv6 in, don't buy it. I personally think that ford is headed in the right direction. If you can get the performance and power with better gas mileage why the hell wouldn't you? As we move forward in time it is going to become apparent that technology will move away from less efficient higher displacement engines, creating more efficient power in a smaller package.

Come on man really? The V6 eco TT. Gets a little more than half the MPG and less power than the GM LS V8 motors. My 2011 Vette with a 6.3 L Gets 27 MPG on the hwy. how possibly can you say the eco boost is more efficient?

And ok compare apples to apples weight to weight Liter to liter. My 6.3L AWD Escalade got 18 MPG and that was a 2009 model. That still got better efficiency than the brand new 2017 Eco boost is reported to come out with.

The latest V8 supercharged versions from GM make the Eco boost look like a joke in the efficiency category. Smaller is not always better.

Ford can do it. They just don't want to. They have the Cyote engine. Use the damn thing. De tune it and give it to us..
