Pick between the EB 5.0 or the. NA 6.2 gen 2

Maybe I missed it, but where is everybody getting this "EcoBoost 5.0" from? Ford has yet to even test a twin turbo V8 so it seems like this would be the least credible and by far the least likely thing to happen.

Ford tends to keep things a secret until they log a bunch of miles on their projects. I heard it from several reliable sources that it's in development. Not necessarily for the raptor though.

Don't get me wrong, I would love a TT 5.0 Coyote based motor. The mustang guys with a hellion kit at 7psi are pushing 750rwhp. That's a bone stock car with a TT Kit...nothing done to the internals. Just injectors, plugs, and turbo's. It would be awesome to have, I'm just not going to get myself amped up for something that seems like a pretty low possibility. Once it's released, though...

same here...
my comment was more ment as a Joke.. then a seriues note
there are so many possibilities...

altough Ford is not big in the Hybrid market.. there is always a 0.00001% chance that the Next Generation Raptor will have it as an "option" :D

Diesel is less likely as Gas is cheaper then Diesel in the US
over here Diesel is about €0,70 per litre while gas is at €1,75 at the moment

but like Ford stated .. there trucks are not ment for the Europeaan market (/cry)

so far the list of engines ( with current Line up ) is :

  • GAS
  • 2.3L GTDI I-4 Engine (from the new mustang)
  • 2.7L EcoBoost (From the 2015 F150)
  • 3.5L V6 Ti-VCT FFV (From the 2015 F150)
  • 3.5L Ti-VCT 4-Valve V6 EcoBoost™
  • 3.7L Ti-VCT V-6 Engine
  • 5.0L Ti-VCT V-8 Engine
  • 5.0L V8 EB / TT (Not yet announced / speculated )
  • 6.2L 2-VALVE V8 GAS (FFV) (1)
  • 6.2L V8 EB / TT (Not yet announced / speculated )
  • Diesel
  • 6.7L POWER STROKE™ V8 TURBO DIESEL
[*]Hybrid (no where near the power band "yet")
    [*][*]
    2.0L Atkinson-Cycle I-4 Energi Plug-In Hybrid Engine( from Fusion :D )

My money is on a 5.0L

Well ford did already build a concept cobra jet with a TT 5.0L a couple years back. And they need to do something big for the next gt500 as the 5.8l will not fit the new mustang

Cost will play a big factor in what motor they go with I am sure. Have heard a bunch of times wish they would have put a 5.8 in the Raptor, but that motor is over $25k. I am sure they could sell quite a few $75k Raptors but they sold as many $50k trucks as they could produce.

There have been rumors of project "voodoo" being a TT 5.0, but I've also heard that it's a flat plane 5.0 slated for the gt350. We won't really know until they announce it.

Personally, I love the 3.5TT, but it would be a mistake to put it in the raptor. It's a torquey little bastard, but there's not much up top. I have one with full bolt ons and custom tuning in my fx4. It's fun and tows like a champ, but it doesn't have the aftermarket support to really become a performance engine.

The GT350 will be a 5.2L and I am hoping the GT500 will be a TT coyote but that is at least a year or two before they release the GT500 again. Can not wait to see what the 350 does numbers wise and how many RPM's

I'd love to have a high revving v8 in a 'stang with a good suspension setup.
