So, there was some interest in this when Birdman posted up about it but now that he's out of the game I figure I'd step in and see if I could get something done.

I've got a sign shop, OneHourSigns, near me and I've already sent them a pic of what I want and they're going to charge me $355 plus tax installed or $285 plus tax not installed. The person I've been talking to is Dee and she told me that much of the cost is due to the fact that they do not hold matte black wraps and they'll have to make a minimum purchase.

I'm thinking that if we do a group buy it'll drive down the costs. Just seeing if there's enough interest in this and I'll run it by her once there is some interest.

So... who's interested?

Sorry... should have posted that. Here's their website: Signs Including Vehicle Graphics, Monument Signs, Banners, and More in Atlanta, Marietta , Throughout Georgia & Beyond

I'll post up the emails I've been sending her soon.

Also, here's the design I am want but I'm sure you guys can change stuff since the color is just print. It'll be the BUILT FORD TOUGH type that some of you might have seen around.

Sorry, no pictures of the exact design (I have no photoshop skills) but I think you guys can get the idea.

Here are the emails:

Dee,

I attached a couple of pictures of what I would like done. Please disregard everything except the center hood piece. I would like to have the FORD oval color replaced with true baby blue and also pinstripe baby blue printed on the edges (left and right). I marked those edges with green arrows in the photo named Raptor1. I won't receive the vehicle until about 2 months but I'm just trying to get some numbers so I can have everything done when it arrives.

----

are you installing this or do you need our installed price? The ford emblem you want baby blue with Ford in white - I'm not understanding what you want to do with the oval exactly.

----

I'll need the install price as well.
Pretty much it's an exact copy with the exception of the baby blue pinstriping and the color. What you see in red/orange will just be swapped to baby blue.
Hope this helps. Thanks

----

what about the BUILT TOUGH in the center of the hood. it's not matte. so are expecting us to do something special with that?

----

Would it be possible to just copy the BUILT TOUGH in the same glossy black color? That's what I would like to do if possible.

----

Jay, yes we could do the BUILT TOUGH.
I have to order a minimum roll of matte black vinyl to do your hood. So the cost for:
Blue Ford oval
Blue striping as indicated
Matte black hood
Gloss BUILT TOUGH with square lines around it
is approximately $355 plus tax installed.
We would need to see the vehicle and get measurements to get started. I know that's a couple months away.

----

That's a little pricier than I expected. How much would it be without installation? And would it be a wet install or dry application?

Thanks

----

My installer puts down dry, but he's been doing it 12 years. You could mist it and go down wet. We can explain when you pick up the vinyl.
Most of the cost is in the minimum amount of matte vinyl I need to purchase and in designing up the oval and BUILT TOUGH.
Without installation you are talking about $285.

Also, if someone could help me get the dimensions of the part of the hood that the graphic will be sitting on that would be awesome. (I don't have mine yet or else I'd do it)

I'm in if this can be arranged. And if it can be arranged with the graphic all the way down the hood, pre-cut for self install.

I'm thinking about having this done here at a local shop. I've been gathering information from speaking with several shops and pro's and different events. One thing you have to remember, if you do a plain matt finish vinyle, your looking at one to three years before it fades and starts to give you problems. There is a clear overlay that can be applied and will extend the life by many years, the drawback is after it's applied your matt finish now has a gloss to it. Also there are many different vinyles on the market and some have problems with damaging the paint due to the chemicles used in the adhesives. According to many sources it's a hit and miss of it coming off without paint damage. I'm still debating this. I have also thought about using Pasti-dip instead of vynile, it will be a matt finish, and easily removed without paint damage, also you can tint the color to an infinite range. I seen even high dollar Vets with this applied and it looks great. The only draw back is the equipment you need to spray the stuff and a place to do it. I still researching this angle. Also you could tint plasti-dip to a close match to your paint and use it as a rock shield in different areas of the Raptor.

Just my take on the issue

So I gave my attempt at photoshop. Well, I don't have the program (that's my excuse) so it kinda sucks but whatever. It'll give you guys an idea.
