I should've mentioned the oil pump gears in the first post, the oil pump going alone doesn't cause the engine to fail, the metal that then flows through the engine does, and they're a common failure and easily precautioned against with pre-build replacement, beyond oil pump gears and bad tunes, has a 6.2 had a major failure building power and at what horsepower did it fail

Well a oil pump failure can be as catastrophic as a broken rod or broken crank. My supercharged Raptor was making 540whp running at 5500 rpm when the oil pump failed. I am putting the finishing touches on a Livernois motor now and my wallet doesn't care how my motor was destroyed it's still empty.
I think what you are asking where the limit is of a stock motor. Well I would start at the oil pump, I know several supercharged Raptor motors that have blown but I have also heard of a couple naturally aspirated motors that have had oil pump failures as well. Mine had a broken gear and was cracked in 6 other places so I think it is just a matter of time before we see more naturally aspirated engines fail.
