Factory installed spray in liner vs aftermarket

Bed was done at the factory - I didn't want any warranty issues between Ford and
Line X if something goes haywire - wheel wells done at the local Line X. The
factory spray in is done by machine with uniform thickness. The Line X is good but
only as good as the guy spraying it that day!

^ what he said. My factory spray in is perfect. Whatever dealer said it won't hold up is ill informed.

Color matching?

Can you order the factory one color matching like you can with the Line X?

The factory liners are still sprayed by a human there is no robot or machine. It is done offsite just like at a linex dealer, , but it is sprayed thinner but with a different product. However Linex does own this company too.

Here in Kc the f-150s are built then go to downtown Kc to the caves to be sprayed.

i have the ford factory liner - and i dont like it. it was sprayed very inconsistantly. the thickness of the coating varies quite a bit - anywhere from 45-119 mils on the bed floor to 29-69 mils on the sides and front wall of the bed. plus, they spray over everything, tie-down hooks, bolts that hold the bed to the frame - plugs in the front wall. on top of that they didnt go the entire way up the bed sides. about the last two inches looks like brush marks of black paint.

line-x usually sprays a minimum of 125 mils (1/8") on the floor - up to 175 i think and a minumum of 90 mils on the sides, tops of the wheel wells, the front wall and the tailgate.
save your money and get a line-x spray in liner. much better quality and a lot better warranty.

I had some guys I work w/ talk me in to spraying their bedliners.I used U-Pol Raptor liner and the results were excellent,( If you follow instructions. )

They all have chevys but their money is green so I didnt care lol.I removed all of the plastic plugs on the inside of the beds,removed tailgates and masked everything off.

We are all happy w/ the results

Line-X premium all the way. Plus you don't get your tow hooks and other stuff sprayed. It's kind of silly to like a pretty bed, but after hauling stuff around a quick hose down it looks brand new and I'm continually happy I went that route.

My dealer says they won't order from factory because it has delayed trucks by weeks.

It delayed my delivery about a week. But I'm really happy with the Ford factory spray in liner. It was worth the week delay.

Did they spray over the bed bolts and tie down hooks like 2008fx4 said?

2008fx4... Are you sure yours came from the factory like that and wasn't a dealership afterthought?

I ordered the factory liner on my 14 so I'm curious to figure this out before my build date.
