Wow! that sucks, and then they wonder why people aren't trading in for new the way they used to.

So here in the great state of Comiefornia try this, If the MSRP for the Jeep is 30,000 (just for round numbers) and you Raptor is worth 45,000. Then if they trade it in at 45,000 and you Pay MSRP your taxed on 30,000 purchase price.. Now those numbers are real value lets assume... Now say they only give you 40,000 for the Raptor (5,000 less on trade in), and mark the Jeep to 25,000 sale price.. Your paying tax on the sale price of 25,000 only.... It gets you the same value for your trade but after taxes you actually come out a head... If you have a 10% tax area your saving 500.00 off the total price...

Better fuel economy and it depends on what kind of off roading you're doing. I like the Jeep but they tend to make your passengers seasick.

1. Looking for something a bit cheaper so I can either build a project car or airplane.

2. Still want 4WD

3. Used to have a TJ years back and really liked it.

4. Raptor won't fit on many trails here in FL.

As far as price for the jeep...
I am getting 1% below invoice per the treadlightly membership discount. I am sure this is the reason they are lowballing me. If I can get them at 43k, I may just do it.

Did you laugh in their face about that offer? They are going to make a killing on you if you trade it in at $40K. Dont be impatient and lose money that way. Either find a dealer that will offer you the right amount or just sell it yourself.

I just traded in my '13 SCrew (everything but front camera, moonroof and stickers) with 8600 miles and my Ford dealer (different dealership than I ordered it from) gave me $50k. I only paid $47,519 for it, but I left the mods (RaptorRetrofit lights, Solid Fold Tonneau, Bed Rug and KMC Monster wheels with Toyo Open Country tires) on it because everything except the headlights I bought for my 2011 and transferred over to the 2013. Tires had probably 30% of the tread left. By way of comparison, the dealer I bought it from only offered me $42K...THAT offer, I considered a low ball. The new dealer had it on their lot for $53,995 and it lasted less than one week (the dealership owner drove it for a week himself).

I did get up and walk out, I was nice about it...

Salesman just sent me and email wanting me to call him. I think I will wait a couple days and let him sweat it out.

Well sometimes that can be a stupid thing to do! They may have found a Buyer for yours. Who knows but I know that when I am looking it is whoever is first!
