bottom line if your looking to buy a raptor and your on the fence and mpg is what your looking at,dont buy.
if your looking for the best offroad and on road performance in a production truck that people just cant stop looking at then get the raptor.

It seems it really varies from person to person (and whose being honest) For me I avg. 10.3 Street and Highway. this is with 37" Rubber - although I have seen some people say they getting better MPG with larger tires, it does not make sense to me.
The larger tires make the gear ratio higher. So if you go to a certain size, it will in a way change the gear ratio from the stock 4.10s to something higher which helps with gas mileage. That's why alot of vehicles get worse with large tires because it already has pretty high gears and it makes it even higher making it harder to turn the tires which of course hurts your gas mileage. But if it is really low geared it can help a little, like a mpg or two but not much.

I'm looking between this and a Jeep, I know I'm not going to get 20 mpg but if it got 16 like its epa guess is then I can handle that.

It's all about a smooth acceleration and staying below 65mph.

I just purchased my 2012 Raptor a few weeks ago and love it. It is getting 16-17 mpg at 70 mph and cruise control set. It drops quickly above 75mph. I use 87 octane and have factory tires. It takes a while to get that average. Usually 40 to 50 miles. The truck will show low numbers at first after resetting the mpg. Give your truck some time to get a good average.

What year is your truck?

2010 6.2L using shell 91. Like many here would agree, keeping it under 70, 65ish you can see some decent numbers. Anything above that really is hard to get good figures. I have no idea how some guys are saying they are getting 15mpg doing 70, 75 mph (maybe good tailwind?)

Maybe that, but a lot of it has to do with the landscape of your region IMO. For me, long flat highways aren't the usual so when I have to constantly keep increasing the RPM's going up hills it takes a toll on the mileage. Every now and then I will get a stretch where I have long flat highway and I'll reset my gauge for fun and it'll show about 17-19 MPG at 65-70 MPH.
