I was informed if I wish to plague your existence here it would be wise to do an intro thread.

Rocking my 07 TRD Off Road Taco. Although that sounds Mexican, I'm actually Canadian.

So don't freak out when I spell colour with a 'U'. :bleh:

3" OME lift, ARB bambi bouncer, 10,000lb Super Winch, 3100 lumen Kragens, sway bar deletion, Mickey Thompson MTZ's for the dry months and Yokohama Geolander I/G 72's for winter. Both 285x75R16. Although with my All Pro LT kit I'm getting I'm contemplating jumping up to 315x75R16's.

Everything was done by me. Lost lots of skin (Specially when the Winch slipped and pinned my thumb between it and the ARB, that was grand.)

However this truck is the first thing I learned mechanics on. When I got it back in 08, I went to do an oil change, drained the ******* tranny, and poured it back into the coolant. (Didn't realize Toyota uses pink/red long life anti freeze instead of the usual green shit and yeah...$250 oil change.) I know better now.

:welcome: to the forum Krazie! Nice hat and cool pictures of the Taco.

I have matching slippers for the hall.

(We just got a new Ambulance hall and the furnace is kigiggered. So it was -10ºC out side and -5ºC inside.)

Welcome! Nice to have a proper introduction huh? lol. Nice truck for a Taco :troll3:

160,000 Kms and it's only had the oil changes and routine maintenance done.

There's a reason they keep getting used in Afghanistan as technicals. Damn things just won't die. The 1GR-FE is a fantastic engine. Not highest HP out there, but bullet proof. And the A750 is the transmission ripped out of the 4.7L V8, so it's way beefier than it needs to be too.

Leaf springs just suck ass, but that's a $400 fix for Mil Spec ones.

Welcome!

I know I will probably be shunned by my fellow Raptor owners for saying this.

I have spent some time on Taco forum (and others) looking for ideas.. There is a wealth information on these "other forums" I make sure to keep a low profile because it always turns into our trucks are better pissing contests. Which is a shame..

Nice ride!

Don't let the other thread fool you, I actually love Tacomas! They are awesome trucks. Reliable, go anywhere trucks. I would like to have one in addition to the Raptor one day...We'll see.

Welcome to the FRF!

You are not alone. Here's my former Taco:

And here is a side-by-side comparison the day I traded it in for my Raptor:

I owned that Taco for just over 6 years. Good & reliable. Just the Raptor is more enjoyable to drive for me personally. I really enjoy the intimidation factor. Hee Hee.
