So, what is the fast speed you've done in your Raptor?

Do they make higher speed rated tires for offroad trucks? I'm assuming yes cause of race trucks. I'm selling my sportscar to afford this truck and would still like the option get a ways up there in the triple digits.

Was on the cruisin on the governor on I90 yesterday racing with a good looking GMC. This truck is just amazing!! We were going threw the traffic riding the governor talking to each other about how another 20mph would be nice!! It was funny because the GMC must not of had at tuner either because he stopped and 98 too, lol. I was jealous though, I just got my truck 2 weeks ago and haven't got my windows tinted, and his were. It's always better when you cam rip shit up with some one and never see each other. It was funny because as we went to the world of wheels car show, and as we walked across the parking lot the parking lot the GMC pulled in. He rolled the window down and I said " I won!!, nice truck" we had good laugh. I love it when i find someone that drives like me.

On a side note, it is so refreshing to be on this raptor forum! I got into a raptor because the used ones finally came down to wear I could afford one. Ive wanted 1 since 2010 when I bought my first brand new truck a fx4 scab. If this tread was brought up on the f150 forum there would be 20 guys on there bitching and complaining about how a 6000lb truck should never go that fast, and how someone is going to die!! It made me sick, learn how to drive!!!!!!! I just love finally having a raptor, and everything that comes with it!

Yes. Some are rated for 127mph.

I'm kind of surprised that 127 is it, don't some race trucks go faster? Forgive my ignorance, i've spent most of my life in the sports car world and haven't had a truck since i was 18.

You can't be serious. 126?!

Yes I am. Tops out now at 122mph with the 4:88 gears and 37" tires. That is GPS speeds..not the speedometer. What is unbelievable? The lack of a higher top end speed? We've got the aerodynamics of a brick weighing 6000#.

Last I looked down it was 110 and climbing with the 5.13's. The mud grapplers aren't rated anywhere close to that so I let off. Its crazy how fast it gets up to that speed with some new gears! Thanks Rick for chatting with me about the gears I can't believe how much of a difference they make.

Trophy Trucks have 800hp, 36" of travel and are not street legal. Comparing a trophy truck to a Raptor is like comparing a Nascar to a Honda. Out little Raptors have 9" of travel and 400hp. I'm sure someone with technical understanding of could explain this better, but once a brick reaches a certain point of speed, it takes exponentially more HP to achieve each additional mph. Think of it like this. A Ford GT can reach 200mph fairly easily with around 500hp. While the new Shelby GT500 can reach 200mph with 800hp. Why? The Shelby is still a Mustang and as aerodynamic as a brick.

And aside from all that... Who NEEDS to go faster than even 100 in a Raptor? Unless you're on wide open dirt with no bumps, that speed can get you into trouble REAL fast. As you said, these aren't trophy trucks!
