Just saw the new chevy---looks good may have switch back. Ford has always gotten worse mpg than GM. Will wait and see but the Raptor imho will be gone wrhen the new model is brought out. It may be back in time but almost all SVT vehicles come and go to some extent.

Knew they would be doing something about the crap frame and many here said no way you are crazy etc. Well there ya go--just wish my truck had the different frame vs the bend o matic on the rest of the trucks. Just made ours go down in value "Baby Raptors" not really for hard off road use! For Off Road buy a 13 and up!!LOL!!!

Bet your ass if I ever look at a used one in the future the 12 on down are out.

Sorry Bird but you have been in the "vodka soaked seeds" on this one..

I'm not familiar with the "vodka soaked seeds" saying, so I'm not sure now to respond. I'm trying to get to the bottom of a potential engineering change to the Raptors frame. That's why we're here isn't it, to talk about anything and everything Raptor?

I am not looking for responses like yours which add nothing to the discussion and reek of model year envy as if anyone is implying the 10-12 Raptors have inferior frames. I'm sorry that's the direction you're looking to take it.

We don't know what effect, if any, this "thicker inside wall" has on the strength of the frame nor do we know if it even exists. Until we have something to chew on, let's steam ahead, shall we?

Sorry bird but if I remember you were one of the one who busted me pretty good about the "frame" not having an issue. Now go back to your seeds and wait for the "short bus"! Leave the serious discussions about off road vehicles to those of us who have had more than one lol--and get them off of the pavement not to try and tear them up but because we have to.

Yes the 12 and below models do have frame issues--remains to be seen if the 13 fix took care of it.

As posted by SDHQ, the change was to the inside section of the frame rails so this would not affect RPGs frame support as it bolts to the outside of the frame rails.

If Ford did make this change to cure the possible frame bending issues, then they will never admit to it. Doing so would just open them up to a possible recall on early trucks, 2010-2012.

The dedicated "fanboys" will deny all the way to the scrap yard. It is a fact that this truck has a weakness so what. I fixed mine and love the springs! Glad It has the flaw because without it most likely would still have the weak sister springs as well.

Remember I am not a mall crawler and have to go off road with a load (light ones) so it is important to me how the vehicle performs with 750 or so in the back. Night and day with the bigger HD National springs.

Remember at the Raptor Run this year saw two frames fail right in front of me and many other people watched it happen as well and those were at the end of the course when everyone was standing around watching folks come in.

Nope--that horse has been beaten to death sorry.

I disagree.

Obviously if its bending, people are driving it to hard for how it's made.

How can to deny that? There are plenty of raptors with zero frame damage that go Offroad quite often I imagine.

If I bend my rangers frame, I'm driving it to hard. If someone bends a raptors frame, they're driving it to hard.
