5591. Synthetic blend. Ford maintenance.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk and a budweiser can

I talked to a ford mechanic at my dealer, and he said he has seen 12 f-150 5.0 v8s with 500 miles and have zero oil in them. He said the engines need to grease up and use a lot of oil to do so. He suggested making sure there was oil in the truck before each drive during the first miles!!

Tried changing the oil at 4000 miles, Good old guys at the ford engine plant felt they needed to put the oil filter on so tight that I ruined a brand new filter wrench !! That thing is on so tight, it is amazing !! Now I have to put clean oil in with an old filter to get it to the dealer so they can eat an oil change over stupidity !

Nothing makes me matter than something that is to tight when it does not have to be !

I agree, any dealer that has changed my oil always makes the filter way to tite. I think they like to do that to break your balls (LOL) if you change oil on your own.

One time I crushed the filter, it just cork screwed it was so tite. I then had to drive a screw driver thru it and use 2 hands to unscrew it.

I went by a local Ford Dealer today and talked to them about my Oil Change. They really didn't see any need to change it until 5000 miles, but I told them I wanted to anyway. I will be dropping off next Tuesday for Mobile 1 Full Synthetic oil change at about 1000 miles.

I also asked them to check the MFT version when it is there, just in case the 3.5 update is ready. On a side note, since I have Tuned my engine, should i reset the Factory Tune for just an oil change?

Thanks,

A

At 5K miles, but if I were one of you that did off-roading in the desert all the time, it would be about every other month. I wouldn't even worry about how miles I put on it before changing the oil.
