Downloading ipod to sync??

Can i plug in the ipod and download the songs to the sync system?? Once i plug it in it is self explanatory??? will it hold the songs or does the ipod always have to be plugged in?? THANKS

Search for a work around. There is a great writeup on getting the 2nd USB Port established. (GJMcManus i.e. Greg did a great play by play on the 2nd USB) Get an external Hard drive (with all your audio files) hook it up to the 2nd USB Port, ( ran mine to the center console) then tell sync "USB 2" to access all your audio files

I personally use a 500GB Seagate GoFlex stored in the center console. $70
