I have searched every thread in this forum and got a lot of information but still have one question. I have the bone stock system in my truck(no nav or sony). I am trying to find all the compents I want to build a system with. my question is will I need an amp to power replacement door speakers? I am think of either the JL C2-570X or Focal IC 570 speakers in all four doors. If I do need an amp any suggestions are welcomed as to size or specific amp.

The other items I am waiting for are a 12' Pioneer sub, supercrew sound single box, JL JX5001D, and audiocontrol LC7 processor as I want to keep the factory look head unit.:peace:

In my 2008 F-150 I had all the door speakers replaced. The guy told me I wouldnt need an amp. However the factory radio started over heating. I had them remove them so I didnt burn up the radio. I would say yes you need an amp but as to which one to get Im not sure.

if you run an amp to the door speakers, theyll sound A LOT better. i dont think its required, but definitely worth it. as far as the sub, i had 2 12" pioneers in an old truck hooked up to a 600W amp. i blew both of them within 2 months. i had a 12" MTX hooked to that same amp for about 5 years and never had a problem. Ive talked to my local audio shop and im gonna go with 2 12" rockfords in the raptor (eventually).

you wont NEED an amp for new door speakers, but i recommend it.... you spent the money for better speakers, might aswell feed them the power they crave. wont need anything huge, like 35+ rms per channel would do well with the doors. and then can put the gain wherever it sounds best.

something like this Amazon.com: Mtx TD75.4 4-channel Car Amplifier: Car Electronics

might wanna look into a capacitor if your gonna run 2 amps esspecially with a good high powered one running a sub.
