I’d push for a new engine
I completely agree. Something was badly flawed in your original engine, and I would ask for a COMPLETE replacement. I would not accept less. If they don’t do it, be prepared to trade this off immediately post-“fix”. You don’t want this one.

How do you bend a cylinder head with a cam phaser failure?
So, there were probably other extenuating circumstances… the bad valve covers are a known issue that contributes to oil issues. That’s why Ford had the TSB. The cam phasers were probably also having issues, and just along for the ride in catastrophic failure. I am surprised that the turbos didn’t let go too.

This is exactly why I chose not to live the ecoboost life. Thank goodness we have the dependable 6.2, and now the 5.2. These are way better options if you don’t like living the ford service center life.

Cue: Fordattackone, nasshole, and smurfgobbler.

So just got a call from ford…
They denied a complete engine replacement. They said ford says that this is repairable and just needs new cylinder header, cam phasers and timing chain.

Ive called every dealership and there is no order banks open anywhere. Found two dealerships that have gen3 for sale for 30k over msrp…

1. Ignore dapangler.

2. They're fixing it under warranty, you'll be fine and so will the truck.

3. Never delay getting in when you get warnings like you got.

4. What was the mileage intervals on the service history for oil changes?

It doesn’t matter what you agree with because you don’t know anything.

I’m surprised you haven’t been kicked off this forum yet for trolling. You’re literally using this guy’s misfortune as a podium to spread the same trash you always do about Gen 2+ trucks. You have absolutely nothing to contribute, you’re a waste of space.

@BigBlue wasn’t this guy warned about doing this exact same thing in a previous thread?

Did anyone ever check how much oil was in it after the incident when the oil pressure light came on? The fact that the cylinder head needs to be replaced and the sprockets are damaged is indicative of a lack of lubrication.

Thats after it all happened.
Oil was at normal level when I bought the truck. I drove around 1500 miles since buying the truck
