At my age and zip code insurance on my 2010 is like $25 a month and I figure in a few years when the 6.2 goes I can swap in a supercharged 7.3 Godzilla and buy a used lightning for a DD.
At 62 I gave up on obtaining a Lightning because of the ridiculous delay, inevitable price hikes, and being associated with the EV cult. Instead, I jumped in head first to Raptor World with a G1 and the big gnarly V8.

I wanted a Raptor since they were first released. But I rarely if EVER pay MSRP much less an ADM. Matter of fact, merely mentioning an ADM in my presents rarely goes well for a salesperson. Also, I prefer to be the first owner of specialty vehicles that have an above average propensity to be abused (used as designed). So, I didn't get my first Raptor until June of 2020 during the height of the COVID "dealer apocalypse"... near invoice. Looks like it will be a long time if ever I have an R so it's not even in the back of my mind.

Ya pretty much I couldn’t care either way if I get one or not. I’ll take it if the order gets allocated. If it doesn’t I’ll do more mods to my existing truck.

September is right around the corner and that’s when scheduling is supposed to start. So we will find out soon enough.

I’ll be honest I think they could have did a bit more to the styling inside and out for what seems like is going to be a pretty rare bird.

I expected the roll out to be this way, so my bar was set pretty low to begin with.

I couldn't agree more. I had been looking forward to it ever since they announced it was going to be a reality, then the ADM's and starting $109k sticker made me reevaluate just holding on to my Gen 2 and spending $30k-$50k over the next few years as it ages to build it up better, and get a nice sports sedan as a daily driver for work, and just driving the Raptor on Fridays and weekends.

I like that they came out with a Blacked out package(FINALLY!) and the motor, but they didn't provide enough aesthetic substance to justify the HUGE difference in price from a standard Gen 3. It was somewhat disappointing.

Nothing against the vehicle itself, just the rollout of it. Outrageously priced, dealership games, unobtainable...just a lot of hard feelings. And did I mention outrageously priced? LOL. Just a damn ford truck, but folks acting like they'd sacrifice their firstborn to get their hands on one.
I'm with you 100% on this one, they sure know how to destroy brand loyalty......
