I stopped at my local dealer last night (Wisconsin) and saw they had 2 brand new 37" raptors on the lot! They were closed so I went in today.

Strangely, they're brand new and unclaimed. No one special ordered either. I will include pictures of the trucks and stickers, but they're both configured the same and about $86k. The dealership is asking a $20k ADM but hinted that I might be able to negotiate it to $15k today. For my trade value, they were low... about $7-8k lower than another dealer recently offered me. That trade value came up to $4k too low very quickly.

The dealer did say the truck market was cooling. Previously they did ask a $35k ADM for the 37's. Also, they do not have ANY 2023 allocations yet and aren't really expecting any anytime soon.

I'm walking away and going to keep waiting for the 2022 I ordered in February. Anyway, Just though I'd share this for anyone out there. I was blown away to see 2 on the lot, when my February order is still without a VIN!

"Please come buy this super rare truck, ignore the fact that we have more Raptor 37" trucks on the lot than 6.7 super duties though!"

Truck market is freezing, not cooling, and its doing it rapidly.
The entire vehicle market, new and used, is dropping fast. I'm kind of glad because I have been in the market for a lightly used AMG GT-C coupe for a while. They are dropping quickly.

Would you not consider the aforementioned 50% reduction in ADM by the aforementioned dealer a rapid cooling? If a month ago I sold you $125,000 worth of gold, and this month I offered you the same amount of gold for $110,000, would you say the market is hot or cold?
I’d say it is fake gold. Lol.

No, I wouldn’t say that a reduction in a dealer markup above full sticker MSRP is a freezing or cooling of the market. Show me trucks available on the lot for MSRP and then I might believe the demand has slowed.

Some ADM amounts are ridiculous. There is a Sacremento dealer tacking on a $100,000 markup on the R. If he lowered the ADM to $50,000 would you believe that market has cooled too?

I’m not arguing with you by the way. Just trying to understand the market better. That’s why I asked for evidence.

I looked up recent news articles and found several that said car sales continue to decline. Nowhere in those articles was demand cited as the reason for declining sales.

Multiple analysis are showing car sales are at a tipping point. Interest rates going up, repos skyrocketing and economy slowing. Prices are 3-6 months from the bottom.
Obviously the more rare vehicles will be least effected for the moment. ADM’s will be non existent on mass produced vehicles. Being able to sell your used truck for more than what you bought it for will be a dream of the past.

I would say not cooling by evidence of what is being paid for used trucks. Trucks over 100,000 miles is cooling because people are learning they need expensive repairs. The over MSRP is just to keep customers from reselling for a profit. Same reaso Ford is raising MSRP.
