While I understand the distaste that's going to be a better deal for a lot of people. I mean, we already have auto leases, rentals, and uber/taxi. A lot of people should probably already be using these options more, if the don't drive very often.

I'm not sure what EV-on-demand would be, unless you mean self driving cars essentially replace taxis. And if that's the case, it could actually mean you own a vehicle, and it can go out an earn money when you don't need it. Imagine your vehicle drops you off at work, then it goes out and does jack in the box deliveries all day, paying for itself and then some.
