GEN 2 Rant: Why is the gen 3 so ugly?? Passing up a free chance to upgrade

I have a dealer that is willing to let me upgrade to a gen 3 for free, though I would have to pay extra for the 37’s. I went by and looked at a couple yesterday and they ruined the looks of the truck. The grill now sucks, the rounded fender extensions are no longer chiseled, the rear brake lights are ugly and the interior looks mismatched and non uniform.

It’s so bad that I think I will pass on upgrading, though I would love 37’s and that rear suspension.

What would you guys do if you could upgrade from a 2020 to a 2023 at no cost?

Do I look stupid? I'd jump all over it. But I'm not fashionable.

A No Brainer.

Finding it very hard to believe at no cost. Especially since the 23s aren't even out yet? What makes your 20 so special?

Sooooooooooo although I prefer the exterior looks of the 2nd gen above all, the Gen 3 interior new features and infotainment could make it worth it. (being that performance does not decrease in ANY way). It may not be pretty, but she can still cook if not better over all.

Kinda like shopping for chics. I'll take a 7 who's VILE in the bedroom over a 10 that's boring.

Wow. Interesting decision. Can't say that I agree with you on the looks of the Gen 3 (it looks fine just not as good as the Gen 2's). If you are very attached to your Gen 2 like I am I understand. You got a good dealer. Who is it?

It’s hard not to but I can’t seem to be excited about it.. The 37’s are pretty amazing and I love the rear suspension but I just find the truck so ugly that I’m not excited.

I started life as a GM fan but think the gen 2 is the best truck ever made. I got 20MPG round trip last month on a road trip (18MPG average across its whole life), I have taken it up some of the hardest trails in CO and it’s comfortable to drive.

Typically I’m a “form follows function” type so I’m surprised too haha

I should add that it’s close to free when you add up what the truck needs (almost $2k in new tires and a Ford extended warranty since I’m approaching 30k)

The dealer owes me and is definitely doing me a solid.
