His “issue” sure looks like normal kickback from hitting bumps. This gets exacerbated with improper geometry.

I think you guys have clouded judgment because helio does come off a bit arrogantly.. as if ford owes him something. Perhaps they do..

under no circumstances should the epas/stability control/abs interfere with the steering wheel so violently that the steering wheel mounting bolt comes loose... although this is happening on an bunch of trucks at varied levels of BASIC modifications and maybe stock ones too. we're not talking about changing suspension pick up points, longer arms, or extreme ends of ride height.

1.6" taller than stock height and 15lbs of extra spring rate. 0" offset wheels and slightly heavier tires should not cause the epas to go haywire under moderate braking before a corner on moderate bumpy desert road..

I don't expect Ford to pay for the repair but someone really should try to address it asap..

Out.

That's four variables out of spec in a complex system. And we have no idea how much margin the system has to start with or how the variables interact. It certainly seems reasonable to me that that could cause the problem. All we know for sure is that Ford tested the crap out of the stock system and the problem doesn't seem to occur in stock vehicles. It could be a software bug that causes a malfunction under certain out of spec situations, ie it doesn't fail gracefully. But if it only occurs when certain variables are out of spec, you could argue that it isn't a bug. I would disagree, in that important things should fail safely, but that's only my opinion. Putting computers in charge of operating parameters allows you to do some really cool stuff, but it can really limit your ability to make modifications. It's only going to get worse.

You nailed it here, he's already had everything mechanical replaced at no cost to him. Why should Ford eat the cost of the entire vehicle + legal fees in a lemon law suit and then pass that cost to consumers (you and me)?

If anyone really thinks that Ford hasn't done enough for him, I implore you to give Helio your bank account information so you can pay for the cost to rip apart everything and figure it out.

Did you miss the part where my truck does the same thing? I'm not trying to get one over on Ford, but this is an issue

After 20 pages of this thread, I missed that one. What's your SA/dealer have to say about it? Is yours stock?

Read the rest of the post you quoted and deleted parts of..

Basic mods in my eyes. Icon upper arms, Eibach springs, method 0 offset wheels and toyo m/t 35"..

Stock everything else..

I never took it to a dealer because I knew it would be next to impossible to reenact the issue in Indiana where I live. The truck was in the az/nv desert when it exhibited the issue, along with a couple other trucks on the run of 11 gen2 raptors..

And also because I knew I'd get the same feedback as on this thread..

So it didn’t happen stock? What you call basic mods are vital parts that actually keep the wheels on the truck.

Maybe it has something to do with trailer assist back up , knob on dash controls steering when backing in a trailer. Maybe that system or subsystem is kicking in under the vibration causing the wheel oscillate back and forth. Loose connections in wiring to the rack ?
