Damaged side view mirror, what tech is in there?

Finally found THE truck. The side view mirror glass is smashed pretty good. But somehow it looks like it's just the glass. No damage to the side mirror housing itself. Least not that I can tell.

Dealer is already replacing the broken glass but does anyone know what all tech is in there that I need to make sure still works?

There's a spotlight which will be easy to test. I'm assuming the blind spot detection sensor is also in there so they can drive it to figure out if that still works.

What else? Auto-dimming sensors (which on most vehicles is in the rear view but I don't know on this one). Anything I'm missing?

I have to travel...FAR...to get this truck so I'd like to make sure whatever systems are in there work in advance.

BLIS is in the taillight. there's only an led in the mirror for blis and it should be part of the glass itself.

dealer should just replaced the whole mirror not just the glass. Didnt know they are allowed to replace glass only. See if motor works and if mirror folds.

Thought a pic would help. I guess those two marks at the bottom that appear to be on the housing just wiped off.

BLIS light and Defog wiring attaches to the back of mirror.

The entire mirror assembly is modular, you can replace everything except the arm itself (then you get to replace it as a whole unit)...then it is around $1,000 new if you buy online, $1200+ if you buy from your local dealer. I bought an aftermarket whole assembly and it shakes like there is no tomorrow...got an OEM ebay one coming now.

Should be able to get just the glass. Any body shop that knows what they are doing should be able to order one for you.

Is there a heating element of sorts? My Gen1 defrosts the side mirrors somehow when I auto start, or is this coming from the side vents of the engine?

those vents dont do that. the heating element would be on the back of the glass.
