Sean, I had a most unsatisfactory experience with SDHQ and I won't go back. I wasn't happy with their after sale service. The shock rebuild they did was fine.

Do you mind providing us the details on why you were not happy with their after sale service? I purchased things from them for my Gen 1, but not anything recently.

sdhq, 454 motorsports, or foutz would be my list of recommendations for the general phoenix area.

Foutz campaigned the gen1 and gen 2 raptors in baja for Ford, and I hear they'll be doing the same for the gen3.

Foutz is having a garage sale this Saturday, so you might be able to score some pretty rad deals on whatever parts you might need.

I seen that, transmissions, race parts, etc.

I would definitely say Foutz Motorsports since they are the ones that basically invented the raptor. They are the ones that took it to Baja both times. 454 Motorsports should be excellent as well.

TX Raptor, by after the sale service, here is what happened. On the drive home from Gilbert to Tucson, the R front fender liner began flapping at the bottom and the tire broke part of it off. I stopped during the drive home and it looked like someone cut it. When I took the truck back for the 500 mile torque visit I showed the Sales Mgr the damage. This was a post repair install of a Ford part. Sales Mgr said they did nothing wrong and didn't have anything to do with the damage. Horse Hockey because the post repair install was done over 10,000 miles earlier and no problem during plenty of Interstate travels. During next oil change (self performed) I had the truck up on a lift and on the same wheel I discovered grease from a puncture in the CV boot. Given SDHC's history with me of not owning their work, I didn't bother to contact them about replacing the CV boot. So that is why I am not happy with their after the sale service.

Appreciate the additional referrals guys. I will call on point, Foutz, and 454 Monday. I actually got a quote from RPG out in CA they gave me a really good quote Thursday. I have it out in San Diego right now while on month vacation.

Have you guys replaced your steering rack already? Mine is leaking and seems just a smidge loose. Would like the Ford OE but found $1700 from Ford. Motor craft remanufactured $1012( 2 year warranty) on rockauto.

I had my rack replaced at 40K because it was leaking. I used the Motorcraft remanufactured rack, had a small mom and pop auto service place install it, and then upgraded the power steering reservoir to one with a filter and new fluid myself.

I don't really have a shop recommendation as I do most of my own work. I have met Greg Foutz and would go there if I need the work you are describing. Hope this helps.

i know it wont help you now, but i found there are shops that rebuild these. im pulling mine out today. the rebuild shop is charging me $150 for it. i guess we will see the quality of the rebuild, but for $150 its worth a shot
